Chapter 3

Madelyn's POV: Days have passed, doctor's still not in, and I'm still having nightmares. Suprise suprise right? Today I want to distract myself a little and go to the flea market. There's a couple nice shops set up there, including my favorite witchcraft one. Yes I dabble in what you would call the occult. As I mentioned before, if you get in contact with someone through a Ouija board, it's probably one of us trying to contact you. I like to contact humans to mess with them. Act like I'm some horrible demon that will possess you in the morning. But sometimes I like to do it to learn about the mortal realm. In addition to the Ouija board stuff I like to try out spells for funsies. Nothing harmful.

Anyways, back to the present.

I was leaving the market when I ran into someone, dropping everything in my hands.

"Oh god I'm so sorry about that!" He said, helping me pick everything up, "I gotta stop texting and walking."

"It's fine it's fine." I chuckled, "My fault I didn't see you." We both stood up when I had everything back, and my eyes were met with Tom Keifer again. We both looked at each other embarrassed when we recognized each other from the other day. "Thanks again."

"No problem. Madelyn, right?" He asked, wanting to make sure he was talking to the right girl.

"Yeah. You're Tom if I'm correct." I replied. He nodded. "I've never really seen you around here until recently."

"Yeah, I don't get out much." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Socialization isn't really my thing. I like to avoid the assholes around here."

I saw one of his fangs as he was talking. Most likely a vampire judging by the size. Werewolf teeth are far bigger even in a human-like state. I would know thanks to dad. Also because he's skinny, pale, and has black hair. Vampires tend to have black hair.

"I feel you." I said, "I hang with my friends or I'm alone. No in between."

"Well, since we're already this far into talking, maybe we should get to know each other more." He said, leaning against a pole, "What do ya say?"

"I assume this is your way of asking me on a date." I said.

"Is it obvious I'm bad at this?" He chuckled.

"I've seen worse. My friend Shandi just screams when she sees a cute guy." I replied, "She is a banshee though."

"You still haven't given me an answer." He smiled.

"I've got no plans so why not?" I answered.

"Hedwig's Junction." He blurted, " 3 A.M. see you then." I chuckled before he turned into a bat and flew off.

When I finished my shopping I checked my watch. It's already 1:45 A.M. I've got to get ready. I caught a bus back home and ran into the mansion.

"Where are you going so fast?" Dad asked as I ran past him on the couch.

"Got a date at three." I quickly answered, jogging up the steps.

"Date?!" He blurted out, surprised. "Oh no no no no no no no!" He darted up the steps and was in front of me three seconds later. Damn his werewolf speed. "Who and where?"

"Hedwig's Junction, and who it is is none of your business." I said. I tried to walk past him, but he held his arm out.

"Hedwig's Junction?! That's a fucking nightclub! Who is taking you?!"

"Don't worry about it." I brushed him off.

"Madelyn." Him using my full name means he's serious. I sighed.

"T— K—." I mumbled under my breath.

"Who?" Dad asked.

"To— Ke—." I mumbled again.

"Madelyn!" His eyes turned red with anger as his body hair stood up.

"Tom Keifer. There, happy?"

"What did I tell you about getting near him?" He asked.

"I know you said to avoid him, but you also said he's nice, and I agree! I just wanna get to know him dad." I answered.

"I don't care Madelyn." He replied, "I don't want him breaking your heart because he's too clingy."

"It's worth the shot in my opinion." I pushed past him and kept walking. "I've been alone since I've been here. No one wants to date the human, and this is the first time anyone's shown interest in me. Let me have this." I walked into my room before he could respond...
