Chapter 10

Madelyn's POV: "What?!" I panicked.

"How did this happen?" Billy was far calmer than I after everything that just went down.

"I got back to the realm and went straight to Blackie's mansion, but the place was completely ransacked." Tom explained, "Almost like a tornado went through. There was blood on the floor and Blackie was gone."

"How do you know he didn't just leave?" Billy asked.

"That's what I first thought. But then I found this." Tom slammed a note on the table.

Come get him.
Tobias

The note was written in blood, and a lock of Blackie's werewolf hair was attached. My heart stopped again.

"We have to go back." I said, shaking.

"You two can. I'm staying here." Billy said.

"What?!" Tom exclaimed, "Billy, we fucking need you back there. I can't defeat Tobias on my own."

"I can't go back there Tom." Billy replied, "It's been forever since I've been in your realm. It—it brings back too many memories of Fiona. I came here to get away from all of that." Tom was silent. "Look Tom, I know you can handle this. Your power combined with Jeff, Eric, Fred, and Blackie should be sufficient. But I can't do this."

"Ok." Tom sighed. "C'mon Maddie."

I was still in shock as Tom rushed me out of the house. The formerly busy night scene was nothing but a blur as we went to the portal.

"Tom, wait." I said, tugging on his arm so he stopped.

"Maddie, we don't have time." He said.

"You need to tell me the truth." I said, "I know Blackie knows, but did you know the truth about Billy?"

"Maddie, please—"

"Answer me Tom." I sternly cut him off, "Did you know that Billy is my real father?" He was silent before letting out a sigh.

"Yes." He finally answered, "I've known since you were born. Blackie never said anything because he didn't want to hurt you." I was back to being silent. "We have to go." Tom quickly pulled me into the portal, and we were back home before I knew it.

"Christ you got her back quick." Ozzy mumbled. Tom ignored him, dragging me out of Ozzy's palace instead. Within a moment we were back at Tom's mansion.

"Fuck get in here!" Eric quickly bolted the door behind us. I sat in the couch, my emotions running through my head faster than the speed of light.

"Any leads in where Blackie is?" Tom asked.

"We got nothing." Jeff said.

"You're a fucking clairvoyant Jeff, how come you don't know?!" Tom asked.

"Tom, I know things about people, I'm not fucking psychic! There's a difference!" Jeff yelled.

As everyone continued yelling, I suddenly broke down into tears. Everything that's happening is too much for me. I learn Billy's my real dad, now Blackie's kidnapped by this crazed vampire who wants to torture me and Tom. All I want is to go home, but I'm not safe there.

"Guys can you stop yelling for a moment!" Eric interjected. Tom and Jeff looked at him. "Can you give me a moment with Maddie?" The two reluctantly walked out of the room. "Fred! You too." Fred woke up and ambled our of the room. "Fucking zombies." Eric mumbled. "You ok?" He sat next to me.

"Too much is changing." I choked. "I just want Blackie back and Tobias dead."

"We're doing what we can, but this fucker is slick and conning." Eric explained.

"Why couldn't I have a normal life?" I sobbed.

"Don't say that Maddie." Eric said, "You have to know that everyone here loves you for who you are. We've spent years protecting you from this guy because we want you safe. This realm is normal for us. We're gonna take care of this whole situation and things will be back to normal, ok?"

I started crying again when he finished. Eric pulled me in for a hug. I never wanted him to let go. It felt reassuring.

"We're gonna get Blackie back soon."

"Can we come in?" Tom peeked from the other room. Eric nodded. "Jeff and I were talking, and we might know where Blackie is."

"Where?" I asked.

"It has to be the Nightmare Realm." Jeff explained, "It's a realm within ours where the bad types of creatures live. Considering we can't find them here, they have to be there since Tobias would never set foot into the human realm."

"Let's get going now." Eric said. We went back to Ozzy's palace to use the portal.

"Now where are ya going?" Ozzy mumbled.

"The Nightmare Realm." Tom bluntly said.

"Are you sure about that Keifer?" Ozzy asked.

"Just set it Ozzy." He replied.

"Ok. But if any of you lose an eye in there don't blame me."

Ozzy set the location for the Nightmare Realm, and we all stepped inside...
