Hello everyone, this is my first attempt at writing fan fiction, so do not expect me to be perfect. And I might try a technique of writing on my phone, and then proofreading and publishing on the computer. I do not own Phantom of the Opera except for my original characters which all of them are mentioned in this chapter.
______________________________________<London,England>________________________________________I have always been different, and don't try to sympathize with me, because you wouldn't understand. Ever since I was born I was always physically different, my right face is covered in marred flesh, and I was hidden away from the rest of the world, never to be seen. Ever since I was about 4-5 years old I have always been abused by my parents and older sister, whenever I did something wrong, like not do my chores, or socialize with the visitors that come to our home.
Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself, my name is Raina Akuma Indra, daughter of Cecil and Morgan Indra, and younger sibling to Mia and Mae Indra. Our father Cecil left only a few years after I was born. And that was when the abuse started, most people would have run away, but I couldn't because of two things. First my family is one of the noblest families in all of London, and they could easily track me down, Second, thankfully my older sister Mae is the only one looking out for me, and she's the main reason I stayed.
Right now I'm 18 and my family has grown more in its game due to my sisters, who are both talented singers and dancers, more Mae than Mia, but I can't criticize, well at least not out loud. They perform regularly at the local opera house. And I'm usually cast as their understudy, because I'm equally as good as them, but I can't go on stage because of my deformity.
But today, my whole world got turned upside down. For me it starts like any normal day, spending most of my day in my 'room' reading, drawing beautiful dresses, and writing music. But a knock on my door came.
"Raina? Can I come in?" Mae asked through the door.
"Of course," I said back, as she opened the door.
"What is it? Did something happen?" I asked.
"Mom wants us both in the main room" Mae answered.
"If it has anything to do with you or Mia getting a role in something, then I don't think my presence is necessary," I replied bluntly.
She sighed, "it is about that, but she requested all of us," she got up and held out her hand, and I took it.
I brushed my hair over my deformity to hide it and walked to the main room and sat on the ottoman, I looked down to not show a sign of testing her dominance, although this rule only applies to me.
"I am sure you are wondering what called you here for," mother exclaimed. I nod small not daring to look up.
"Well, Mia has landed a gig in another Opera," she answered. Mae looked at me and could tell what I wanted to ask,
"mother, I'm already doing an Opera here in London, where is her opera going to be at, and is it still in England?" Mother nodded to the question,
"she will be doing in opera, not in London, or England, but at the Opera Populaire in Paris," my eyes widen at what I heard.
"Raina will be coming with us as her understudy, while you will stay until the Opera is over, we will be staying a full season, so you both will have equal chances to shine for the whole world," mother said proudly.
"Raina you are excused to go pack, but remember, only one bag," Mother said. I curtsied and left to pack my one bag, but Mae came in with a second for some of my journals. Because that is the only thing keeping me sane in this house. I packed my first with my clothes, personal belongings, and my newer journals, than filled the other with my older ones because there is a sliver of hope that someone will notice and appreciate my talent. And also to revise and edit previous work.
