And the excitement only continues to grow, and we learn the truth of one of the characters that was ever present. You'll learn who he is later. Nehehehehehe. Anyways enjoy the chapter. I dont the Phantom, or the Opera, or the of the in between.

But she had the audacity to look for a split second, to see my hand brushing the porcelain of my mask. And before I could react, she was gone.
I started to run blindly, trying my hardest to get away from Erik. He saw me, he saw me for who I was, a freak and a monster. I managed to make to the stables and found Raven, mounted her, and rode out of the tunnels and away from the opera house.
I rode as fast as Raven could let me, I guess she could hear the desperation I had, so she was running as fast as she psychically could. We were entering the forest and I slowed her down so she wouldn't get hurt. But I heard another set of hooves behind me, Erik must have followed me I thought and started going faster. We were able to lose him for a while, and I found what I was looking for. I got off Raven and started guiding her through the brush. I left her in a clearing a few meters away from the pond and walked the rest of the way. After at least 15 minutes of walking, I made it, The Crystal Pond.
I stopped to look, I haven't been here for almost 5 years, and it still looked the same, especially one thing, the willow tree. I walked over to it and sat down on the grass, damp from some of the earlier snow storms. I lightly brushed the bark, and part of it had words engraved in:
Zarif Christopher Prewett
1850-1865
Always in our heartsI touched the letters, bowed my head, and looked directly at his name.
"Zar, I don't know what to do, I finally showed someone who I am, I just don't know, please if you can help me, help me please," I begged. The wind whispered in my ear as I sat there for a full minute.
"It's alright I'm here," someone said, someone familiar.
"Zar?" I whispered the winds soften in response.
"Look up," he said, as his cold spirit hands touched my chin and made me look at him. I saw his warm eyes, and I started bawling. He held me in his embrace, stroking my hair, the winds were circling around us. We pulled apart and he looked down,
"is it true?" He asked. I nodded,
"what did he do?"
"I don't know before he could react, I was gone," I replied looking down.
"He'll probably gloat and mock as everyone else did,"
"I'll be the first to object, he won't do that," he replied, slightly fierce, but not hateful.
" How would you know that?"
"I am a spirit, after all, I'm always with you, and I know these things," he reasoned.
"All right I'll give you that, but I'm not sure," but then his focus wasn't on me. The wind around him was pretty fast, so I could hear it in my ears.
"Someone is coming, I have to go," he said looking at me.
"Zar please don't go, I need your help," I pleaded,
"I'm all alone," he put his finger to my lips.
"You're not alone, remember that, you are not alone," but before I could react, he was gone, and so was the wind. Then I saw Erik climb out of the bushes.
"Raina," he said in relief, he started walking towards me, but I backed up, pressing myself against the tree.
"What wrong?" He asked, guilt in his eyes.
"Why have you come here?" I whispered, not daring to look at him.
"I wanted to see if you were okay," he replied, taking a step towards me. I glared at him,
"no you're not," I growled. He returned the glare, even harder,
"and why do you believe that?" He asked.
"You saw me for who I am, and you're not scared, or at least revolted by the beauty of the lies I tell," I practically yell back, after I started breaking, I finally snapped. I fell to the floor, try to drown myself in my own tears. But I felt the strong yet comforting hands of Erik go around my waist.
"The reason I don't feel disgusted is that I understand," I looked up at his face, confusion imminent in my eyes.
"How?" He looked at me, it was obvious that he was warring with himself, but why? He sighed and asked,
"did you ever wonder why I wear a mask?" I didn't know, but when I stopped to think about it, it made sense, but he couldn't possibly, could he? He reached out and took my hand on his, then he placed it on his mask. But I move my thumb on my own accord and gripped enough of the mask to be able to take it off. He tore away and hid from me. I gently hushed him, as anyone would do to a stray cat or dog,
"it's alright" I said with the same gentle voice on the night we met,
"let me see" I looked into his eyes before bringing him to the moonlight, they didn't show stress or uneasiness, they showed genuine fear. I brought him out into the moonlight, and I saw why he hid. The entire right half of his face was filled with either marred or stretched skin, that had a certain yellow hue. It might be lepercy but I didn't, and still don't know. Tears were stained both our eyes, then I leaped into his chest.
"I'm sorry" I cried into his chest, he was still in shock from me leaping into his chest, but his breath only hitched more when I said that.
"W-Why would you be sorry? it's my fault that you got upset," he said after taking a much-needed breather.
"I was being so selfish, I was caught up in my own feelings, when I didn't even consider yours," my tears starting to create puddles on the ground. He quickly wiped the rest of my tears away.
"Don't waste those precious tears on a monster like me," He hushed,
"but you're not the monster, I am," he faced hardened with dead seriousness,
"why should we even fight over this?" he asked with a really playful tone, as he brushed my hair away from my deformity. I stood in death stillness after he did it, but he just hugged me, and when he did, I could distinctly feel electricity between us, and butterflies in my stomach, what was this feeling, that came too suddenly and is so new. I didn't think about after as we rode to the opera house, thinking of nothing else but each other.
