Ch 5: Escape

I slowly opened my eyes to see a lamp and all my gadgets in a corner. I noticed I was on a very soft bed. I remembered everything. The man covering his scars, and him smirking as he saw me fall from my seat.

'Little vixen, we know what you're up to...'

How could I be so ignorant? I let the enemy capture me! What kind of agent am I?!

I breathed out. I don't have time to dwell on mistakes. I have a job to do! I sat up in bed and noticed my hands were cuffed behind my back, and I was out of my red dress and in a tight black one going down to my mid-thigh.

"Damnit, I have to get these cuffs off and hopefully find the artifact. Judging by the elegance of the room, I think I'm very near." I concluded. I hopped off the bed and walked to the corner with my stuff. I shuffled the stuff in the case around until I found the lock-picking kit. I fumbled with it and it spilled open. I grab one of the tools and jab it inside the handcuff lock. I wiggled the tool around until I heard a click and the handcuff was off one of my wrists. I quickly did the other one and threw the handcuffs into my bag. I threw everything in there and looked around the room for anything else. Nothing.

'Wait, why didn't I think of using my Quirk to remove the cuffs?' I deadpanned. I walked to the door to listen for guards. None. I slowly opened the door and looked both ways before exiting. I turn to my left before being spotted by two guards.

"The prisoner escaped!!" One said. "Capture her!!"

They rushed towards me, and I took a stance. One of them went for an uppercut, and I flipped back just in time. I pulled my fist back and ducked as the other went for my head. I punched their stomach and added a little bit of my Quirk to push them back into a wall, incapacitating them. I turned to face the other one, who took out a gun from their jacket. I quickly remembered the Mahi gun and whipped it out. I ran forward and shot the guard, who fired a bullet that lodged itself in my right forearm. 

"Gosh! The other one just had to get shot!" I yell. The guard fell over, unable to move. I pulled the gun out of his hands and unloaded it. I knelt down to the guard's face and ignited my hand. "Where is your boss?!!"

"I don't know, believe me!! Please! I just work here!!"

"I can't believe a piece of scum like you for a second! Now let me ask you again; where are they!!!?" I interrogated. The guard trembled.

"Fine, he's in the basement! That's all I know, I swear!"

I scoffed, hitting the guy in the head and knocking him out. I shot the other guard with the Mahi gun for good measure. I need to find the artifact first, before calling Aizawa and Hizashi.

I work my way up the levels, knocking out guards and asking them where it is. They all had one answer: up. So I went up until I reached the final level. There was only one room. I burst through the doors and started searching for the artifact. I searched every corner, every nook and cranny until I reached a small safe behind a painting. I pulled out the scanner and put it against the safe. It beeped, giving me a code, and I put it in. The safe slowly opened and I found the artifact, a gold, jewel-encrusted tanto blade. I pulled it out of its pedestal and carefully put it in my case. I felt a chill up my spine, and I knew that I was not alone in here. 

I hear a person behind me slow clap. "Very impressive. You're playing this game fairly well."

I turn to the man with tied-back blue hair, with a mask on. "You have very impressive skills! My pawns fell right at your feet!"

"Who are you?!" I questioned. "Are you their boss?! Is this your fault?"

"Ah, I would say that I am a boss of sorts. However, I am not the final boss. Mustard, do what you were told to do." The blue-haired man ordered. A boy in a school uniform and a gas mask released some type of poison gas. Acting fast, I created a sphere of air around me, filtering out the gas. Since I was occupied, I failed to notice the man behind me. Before I could react, he shoved his teeth blades in my body, and I almost passed out from the sheer pain.
