AU where Cheryl and Toni meet at a party where something bad happens and Toni takes Cheryl back to her trailer to help her

Toni's POV

Well this isn't how I'd prefer to spend my Friday night. A small party at the Pembrooke, with Jughead's northside friends. Jughead wanted Sweet Pea, Fangs and I to meet his northside friends, which I wasn't excited about. I knew Betty already and I met Archie and Veronica too, and they were cool but I didn't really want to meet anyone else.

I walked to the Pembrooke after school because I wanted to get some fresh air. It was about an hour walk to get there but it was a beautiful day. It was about 5:45pm when I arrived and Betty, Veronica, and their friend Josie where already there setting things up. "Hey guys." I said as I walked into Veronica's apartment. "Hey Toni!" Veronica and Betty said as I walked over to help lay out food on the snack table. I saw Josie who of course I recognized from her band 'Josie and the Pussycats'. "Oh hey, you must be Josie." I said as I reached my hand out. "And you must be Toni! It's so nice to meet you!" She said as she shook my hand and smiled.

I talked with Betty, Veronica, and Josie for half an hour before everyone else started arriving until we finally had Archie, Jughead, Reggie, Sweet Pea, Fangs, Kevin, and Nick. I thought that was everyone but apparently some girl by the name of Cheryl, was running late.

About an hour after all the boys joined us there was a knock on the door and Veronica ran up to get it. She opened the door revealing a beautiful, red haired girl. "Guys, Cheryl's here!" She said then everyone wooed. Cheryl came into the living room and sat down. She looked at me and I gave her a friendly smile. She was smiling and began talking to everyone, but something seemed off. She looked happy on the outside, but just by looking at her I could tell something was going on with her.

I was talking to Betty and every so often I'd look over at Cheryl. I couldn't help myself, she was just so beautiful, like how could I not look at her? She had on a black romper that showed off every one of her perfect curves. She also had on cherry red lipstick, that just kept pulling my attention to her lips, and her hair was flawless. Why are the straight girls always so perfect? She started to notice someone was looking at her and she turned to look around. We made eye contact and I immediately turned away. I'm really glad Betty didn't notice me blush, or at least she didn't say anything.

Our eyes met a couple of times before I saw her get up and head towards the kitchen. Veronica came over and sat with Betty and I after she left. "Hey guys!" She said as she placed herself next to Betty. "Oh hey Ronnie, what's up?" I asked. "Nothing, just curious to see what you guys were talking about." She replied sweetly. "We were just remembering how Toni and I didn't like each other at first." Betty laughed. "Oh why was that?" Veronica asked curiously. "She thought I was trying to steal her man." I said bluntly causing all of us to laugh. "Oh my god, Toni. Sorry that you had to deal with jealous Betty." Veronica laughed. "It's fine, she felt better about Jughead and I when I told her I was more into girls." I chuckled.

We talked for a few more minutes and then I decided to go and get something to eat. I walked into the kitchen to go to the snack table and Cheryl was sipping on some cherry cola when she turned to see me. "Oh" she exclaimed as she choked on her drink. I didn't mean to startle her but it was honestly cute when she choked on her drink. "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." I laughed. "Oh no you're fine! I just get startled easily." She was with a warm smile. Cheryl was the only person at the party I hadn't talked to yet so I decided to start a conversation with her. "Hey, I don't think I've met you before." I started. "N-No, I don't think we have." She replied seeming a bit nervous. "Oh, well hi! I'm Toni Topaz!" I said sweetly as I put my hand out. "I'm Cheryl Blossom." She said sweetly as she took my hand. As I shook her soft hand I realized that this was Jason Blossom's sister. Knowing that, I immediately knew his death was something that was hard for her, but there had to be more going on.
