Chapter Twenty Six: Meadow Green Eyes.

My legs are being dragged, the sleek marble runs against them causing a burn to appear. Thrashing around doesn't help, the strong iron grip of the guards don't allow me to move.

They both wear dark clothes and haven't said one thing to me. One of them has greasy sandy blonde hair as the other has unbrushed brown hair, but they both have emotionless faces as strong muscles are formed on them.

The kingdom hallways roof is a dome shaped while beautiful crystal chandeliers alluminate the walkway. Paintings are hung in a antique frame, people walk by with surprised faces as they watch my body being dragged.

Leaning my head down, loose hairs falls onto my face.

Blinding lights woke me up as tears fell out of my eyes. Of course, I tried everything to escape but nothing worked. There were to many of them.

Thoughts of Jacob flash through my mind like a camera roll. His smile causes my eyes to water, a small sob escapes my lips. I miss his warm eyes that brought me peace, his soft gentle touch or his expression as he watched me look around astonished at the wooden library in the mansion. Biting my lip the salty tears drip down one by one.

Slowly, our pace comes to a stop as a creaking sound has me looking up. Two gigantic doors loom over me. As they open, I look around to find myself in a humongous ballroom. It's squeaky clean with marble pillars reaching to the tall roof, another gorgeous crystal chandler hangs above greeting me with bright lights. The wallpaper is a magnificent brown with swirls of what looks like flowers.

Soon, my eyes drift forward, there stands a dark red and gold chair held high on marble stairs covered with a red carpet.

But in the beautiful chair a handsome man with slick black hair sits. His long dark eyelashes would have women envy for them. The mans eyes widen as they gleam a peaceful meadow green color. A dark stubble frames his handsome face. A perfectly cut jaw line has my mouth opening ajar. His pink plump lip twitches when we make eye contact. My body heats up as I want to touch his tan skin, what is happening to me?

The guards walk in quickly and drop me, moving my hands quickly my palms make contact with the floor. Getting up angrily I look over at both of them with daring eyes. The guards faces drain of blood when they see my expression causing them to leave and close the door in a rush. Turning my head back toward the man I see green eyes staring back at me as his body heat radiates off of him. Our shirts are barely touching, sucking in a breathe, my heart starts to race.

"What is your name?" His deep graceful voice questions me, wanting to speak but no voice escapes my lips one of his thick eyebrows are raised.

"I do not like repeating myself." He states, clearing my throat quickly a stutter escapes as I answer. "S-Sage, Sage Paul."

A small smile tugs at his lips, "Well, Sage Paul." He continues with his angelic voice. "You will now be living here, in Nox Regnum."

Confused my eyebrows scrunch together as we stare in each other's eyes. "Noz Eggman?" I ask, what a stupid name for a place that is.

He chuckles and turns away, "Nox Regnum." He corrects with a small smile, shrugging my shoulder I stay in place not wanting to move.

"Same thing." I mumble under my breathe causing him to chuckle again, looking up at him astonished of what just happen, he stares at me confused until the look of realization dawns on him.

"Forgot, you're a novus sanguis. You haven't learned all the abilities you can master. " He states still with an amused expression, confused on what's happening I take a step back.

"Enough of these big fancy words! Speak English." I state causing him to laugh, his shoulders jump up and down as his chest vibrates.

"That means your a new blood Sage. You have a lot to learn, follow me please." He confesses as he struts away, not looking back to see if I will follow. Soon, I'm in the same step as he is.

"You haven't told me your name." I say looking up at his sky-scraping tall figure, he looks down at me with a eyebrow raised. Until he smiles showing me his pearly white teeth.

"How rude of me," He stops and grabs my hand. Soon his plump soft lips come in contact with my skin, causing the blood to rush up to my cheeks. Looking away I have my hair cover my face. He continues with a smirk. "My name is Valentine Blade, milady."

Hearing Valentine whisper something else, I keep my head down.

Feeling a small touch under my chin I find my head moving so we make eye contact. Valentines face close to mine, the tip of our noses almost touch. "Please do not hide your beautiful face from me." His voice whispers into my ear, causing me to blush once more.

Why am I reacting like this? I never blush. Why am I so drawn to him like this? I shouldn't have these feelings for a man I just met.

Valentine has a full blown smile on his face for my reaction, soon he leads me into a hallway that's lit by candles. Doors are on either sides of the long hallway with the dome shape ceiling, he draws near one of the wooden doors and opens it up without a knock.

Peering over his shoulder I find a room with little light. Valentine walks in quickly and says something that I couldn't hear, soon flames appear everywhere as candles are found all over the room. Sparks appear as a fire lights the wood in the fire place, looking around I see large shelves wrap around the round room full of books. Two comfortable plush couches placed in front of the dimly lit fire. My mouth drops as I'm in awe at this extraordinary room.

"Valentine!" A voice greets. looking over I find a man with brown hair fading into grey has a warm smile on his face. He stands near the fire place with a black cat at his feet. A light white scar runs down one of his bushy eyebrows. He wears a dark red cloak that covers every bit of his skin expect his hands and face. He continues as his eyes peer over me,"I can tell she is a book lover."

The black cat squints it's piercing blue eyes while a small yawn escapes from it. Looking over at Valentine, he's already looking at me with a small smile. The other man walks over and reaches his hand out for me to shake.

Wrapping my small hand around his large clammy hand he introduces himself, "I'm Abel, and who may you be?" He asks, I look closer and see aging lines under his eyes. Valentine quickly walks over and rests his hand on the low of my back.

I don't know why but I'm so comfortable with him. Am I going crazy?

"This is Sage, remember?" Valentine reminds Abel. Abel's mouth opens as he snaps his fingers like a memory has returned. Bristles of fur rubs against my ankle, looking down I found the black cat is scratching its back onto my leg.

"That's Brutus, don't mind him he's only introducing himself." Abel states resting his hands on either side of his hips, squatting down I lay my hand on top of Brutus's soft head. A small purr causes his body to vibrate. Smiling at him Brutus replies with a soft meow.

Standing back up I find Abel putting a book into one of the wooden shelves that rest on the wall. Then he struts back over towards Valentine and I. Looking back over towards Brutus, Valentines voice travels into my ears.

"I will need to borrow a few books." He states, Abel moves out of his way and raises an arm hinting for us to look around.

I slowly draw near one of the many book shelves, Brutus follows in pursuit. Running my fingers against the books the comforting smell of the library tickles my nose.

One of the books catch my eyes, Délimité Par La Lun , I read. Curiosity fills inside of me, quickly grabbing the book I open it to the first page. A large rough hand wraps around my forearm, looking over with wide eyes I come face to face with Abel. He scans the book cover and reads the words, a small smirk appearing.

"Nice choice, you'll need to know about this." He states with a wave of his hands and walks towards Valentine. Looking down towards
Brutus he gives me a soft purr and rubs against my leg one last time.
