Life is looking bright for Georgia. She just finished another movie and has been in a happy relationship. That is, until the wedding of two of her bestest friends brings back old demons.
Sequel to Hooking Up [KJ Apa]
I sigh as I sit down on the same bench Boston proposed to me as the reception and walking dinner inside are in full swing. It's been a rough couple of days, and seeing how Dylan reacted on our engagement, I don't even want to go through telling my brother about it. What if he reacts the same way?
I'm so lost in my thoughts, that I only notice the Kiwi sitting next to me when I look up again from my hands. I jump a little, but soon recover to turn towards the man I used to call my love.
"Hey." I break the silence.
"Hey." Kj replies, fidgeting with his own fingers.
It's quite uncomfortable to sit here with him, alone. Especially when I can see that he wants to say something, yet is holding back.
"So, uh." He starts sloppily before regaining his confidence, "I just wanted to congratulate you on the engagement. It's great to hear."
If I had known him better, and believe me I do, I know that he's lying. And I get why. Our chapter ended so abruptly. I have been in his shoes, seeing him move on with Reyna, marrying her. Until that pount I had always thought that there could still be something happening between us. After his wedding, I just knew that it wasn't even the slightest possibility.
"Thank you." I smile at him anyway, "It's sad to hear about your divorce."
"Yeah... I guess we just weren't meant to be." He sighs before it gets quiet again.
"I'm happy for you, George. I'm glad you found your happiness. Even if I'm not the source of it."
I'm slightly taken aback by that comment. I glance at him, but he's already leaving me alone. I sigh, looking at the door he'd just gone through. How the hell is it even possible for me to feel like I need to apologize for being happy?
I'm lost in my thoughts, knowing that it was always dangerous for me to get so lost in my thoughts. That is until my lord and savior comes around. kidding though.
"How is it possible I always find you alone, lost in your thoughts?" Cole grins as I look up at him.
"KJ-" I sigh and he sits down, knowing how hard the topic is, "He's messing up my mind again."
"Oh, Georgie... Why are you letting him get to you?"
"Well, you're the one who invited him to the wedding!"
Cole laughs and I join in. This is exactly what I needed. Just a quiet moment with one of my bestest friends.
"But seriously, Georgie. Don't let him get to you." He says on a more serious note, "You are finally happy. And after everything that has happened to you in the past 4 years, you deserve it."
I glance at Cole smiling, because he's the one that has always been able to get me over my toxic thoughts.
"What are you even doing out here?" I question, only now realising he should be inside, celebrating his wedding.
"It's almost time for the siblings' dances, and I would love to have you there with us."
"My, aren't you a cheeseball?" I grin.
He rolls his eyes before nudging my shoulder to get me up on my feet. He reaches out his hand and I gladly take it for him to lead me inside to the dance floor. I see Lili dancing and laughing with Dylan, while Cole and I sway lightly to the music.
What a great ending to a beautiful night.

I pull into the studios where a few of the press releases will be for the new movie. I show my badge to the security guard, old Mr. Johnson, and he flashes a toothless (literally) smile at me as he opens the barrier for me.
"Have a nice day, Miss Brown." He hollers behind me.
I put my hand up and give him a little wave as I drive towards studio 1, stopping right in front of my star actress.
"Are you trying to run me over?" Alexandra snaps laughingly.
"A happy new year to you too, Alexa." I roll my eyes as I get out of the car.
"Girl, New Year was a week ago."
"See, I knew we should've recasted Jacoba."
We laugh as we walk into the studio's reception. I flip my hair behind my shoulder and put my sunglasses on top of my head.
"Ooh, Miss Brown and Miss Shipp." The receptionist greets us excitedly, "Welcome to the studios of 'The Ellen Show'. I will page Sandra, your assistant for today, and she will show you around the place."
We thank the man and plump down in the sofa that is standing there.
"How's the fiancé?" Alexandra breaks the silence with a smile.
"Great. He actually flew out my brother to New-Zealand for New Year's Eve."
"Oh, god. Your engagement announcement on Instagram was goals. Honestly, did you take the picture yourself or did you have a professional photographer for it?"
"We had Timēna, KJ's sister. She's still one of my best friends."
"Anyway, it looked amazing." She shrugs, "I'm definitely jealous. I need a boyfriend."
"Then you gotta get out of the house a little more."
She slaps my arm while exclaiming profanities that no child should hear. I laugh, of course. It's so funny to see my friends getting all riled up.

Yasssss! I've finished this chapter 😄 I am very sorry about the social media thingy at the end, but I've been reading a lot of social media fanfics and I felt like it fitted over here. Also, I'm a big fan of all things Bachelor, so I started a Bachelor in Paradise social media fanfic and it's already on my profile! Anyways, I hope you're happy with the chapter 😊
