Phil's POV

"Okay, Phil, he gave me his address. You can go and see him if you like, but he does have a wife now, and a daughter." Mum told me.

"Wait, so I have a half sister I never knew about too?" She nodded "Oh this is ridiculous! How old is she?" Mum shrugged "Do you know her name?"

"Elizabeth, I think. Right, Phil, I'll see if I can book you a train to Cardiff next week. Is Monday okay for you?"

"I'm going tomorrow, Mum." She looked at me, horrified.

"What? No, Philip, you need time for this to sink in."

"No, Mum, that's what you would need. I don't. Maybe that's a quality I get from my father, but then, I wouldn't know." I walked into the kitchen and told Clara what was happening.

That evening, I packed only a few essentials for the journey to Cardiff the next day, as I had no idea how long I would be able to stay for.

The next morning I woke up at 5am, my imagination flowing with ideas of what my Dad looked like, and what qualities I had inherited from him. My height must have been one of them - Mum's not very tall.

I then thought about my sister. She must be younger than me. I wondered if she had blue eyes too.

I twisted and turned next to Clara in the double bed in the spare bedroom of my parents' house.

After lying awake for way too long, I finally got up and grabbed my MacBook. I went into the living room so I didn't disturb Clara. I looked at when the earliest train to Cardiff left: 6:45am. "I can do that." I whispered to my Mac. "I can make it."

I tiptoed back into the bedroom and gently kissed Clara on her forehead. I changed as quietly as possible.

Not quietly enough.

"Phil?" Clara yawned, rubbing her eyes. "Phil, what time is it? Where are you going?" She stretched and began to sit up straight.

"I'm going to Cardiff. I'll only be gone for a couple of days. I'm sorry, I just can't wait any longer. It's driving me crazy." I whispered.

"I'm coming with you." She pulled back the covers and started to climb out of bed. I gently took her shoulders and guided her back in.

"No, no, babe. You stay here. I need to do this on my own. Mum won't mind you staying. Sorry babe. I love you." We kissed and she ran her hand down the back of my neck.

"Okay. It's a good thing you're hot, Mr Lester. I wouldn't be very happy otherwise." I gave her a smirk. "Keep me updated, babe, seriously. I love you too."

I rang a taxi once I was outside and was at the train station by 6:30am. I had 15 minutes to waste. I decided to ring an old friend.

"Hello?" He yawned.

"Hey Dan, it's Phil. Sorry to wake you."

"PHIL!" He shouted, I could hear the happiness in his voice.

Since mine and Clara's relationship started getting more serious, I soon moved out of Dan and my apartment, and stopped seeing Dan as often. The BBC soon gave us seperate radio shows, and now we don't talk nearly as much as we should.

"How are you?" he asked me. I told him about the proposal and going to see my 'new' Dad and sister. "Wow, Phil. That's full on. You better start keeping me in the loop more. Especially, if your sister is hot!" I laughed.

"Whatever, Dan! I'll see you soon, yeah?"

"Yes. Definitely."

"Oh wait!" I suddenly said - remembering something important. "Dan, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, what?"

I coughed, steadying myself. This was like proposing all over again. "Will you be my best man?"

"You want me to be your best man?" Dan replied in  a monotone voice.

"Yep!"

"You want me to make a speech?" He asked still in the same tone.

"God, yes." I was smiling and he hadn't even agreed yet.

"In front of all of yours and Clara's friends and family?"

"Naturally."

"Phil, do you even know me? I'll do it wrong. I'll mess it up. I'll ruin your wedding day. I'll be useless."

"At least you could make a new 'Reasons Why Dan's A Fail' video for your YouTube channel. Your fans have missed that. See, I'm doing you a favour!" I joked.

"Phil." He was being the serious one for once.

"Look, I do know you, Dan. I couldn't imagine anyone else doing it. You'll be brilliant. Please."

"But, Phil..."

"Dan, I'm going to miss this bloody train. Make a fucking desision."

"Oh Phil. Yes. Don't blame me when I do it wrong. But thank you so much. It means a lot..."

"Yeah, that's great, Dan. But the train is leaving. Bye." I said cutting him off. As I pressed the 'end call' button, I could here him laughing.

I sat on the train for hours and only got into Cardiff trainstation at 10am -  even then, I  had to go on an uncomfortable taxi ride for another hour.

I finally found the house and hesitated before knocking on the door. "What if Mum was right - maybe he doesn't want anything to do with you. Do you really want to meet him? Maybe your sister will hate you." I thought. I sighed and started to walk away from the house. When I heard a deep, manly voice.

"Can I help you?" I turned around and saw a broad shouldered man. He looked strong, but slightly older than I was expecting. He was tall, he had black hair (with the odd grey speck) and blue eyes.

"Urm.. Yes. I'm looking for John North?" My teeth were chattering from the nerves.

"That would be me."

"I'm Phil. Your son." I felt like I was about 4 years old as he walked towards me slowly. I could see slight tears in his eyes, and then noticed tears in my own.

We paused and then hugged each other so tight I thought we would never brake apart.

It was weird, hugging a stranger. A stranger who shared my genetics.

He invited me inside for a cup of tea. We sat and spoke for hours, telling each other everything.

Later that afternoon a shining red car parked outside the house and two women walked inside. They paused in the doorway, shocked.

"Hi" I said.
