I can't help but feel self conscious as we walk up the stairs to my door. This isn't the best of of places by a long shot and now I can't even remember if the place is clean or not. I don't think I will be able to stand any more humiliation today.

As I take out my key I can feel his eyes on me, making me nervous. I miss the hole once before placing it in and turning it, afraid of what I was going to see. Pushing open the door, I brace myself but am surprised when I see only a few things laying around. Letting out a sigh of relief I step in fully and walk to the couch with Louis following after.

"You want a drink or something?" I ask trying to make things not so awkward.

"Um sure, thanks," I nod and take the few steps over to the kitchen and open up the cupboard. Empty. Never before in my life have I ever wanted to jump out of this window more than I do right now. I just walked right into that one didn't I? What the heck do I do, I have no cups, no cups. I can't just go out there with nothing! Running to the fridge I look for soda or anything drinkable but turn up empty handed. I don't even have a bottle of water, now that's pathetic. I run my hands through my hair, desperate to think of something.

"Everything alright in here?" I jump a little as I hear him from behind me. He stands in the doorway giving me a questionable look. Should I just come out and say it? No its to embarrassing, but what other choice do I have.

"Well actually..." I trail off not knowing how to put this, "I just uh well I," this is running quite smoothly. Suddenly an idea springs to mind. "I was going to get you a soda, but it looks like I'm all out." Hopefully this will solve my little situation, I've gotten myself into.

"Oh, water is just fine," he smiles. Water. He wants water. How many more stupid excuses do I have to come up with?

"Actually I'm fresh out of bottled water also," please leave it alone now, I beg you.

"We can just use cups and get it from the tap," he says walking over to the cupboards. Great, even after my lame excuses he's still going to find out and now I'll look like an even bigger idiot. I think I deserve an award for having to go through this day.

After looking for a few seconds he turns back around, "Where are your cups?"

"Well..." I say dragging it out, scratching the back of my head hoping he'll get the hint and won't make me answer that question. He continues to stare for a bit longer, before bursting out in laughter. My guess is he figured it out.

I stand there quite embarrassed while he continues to laugh. That window looks really inviting at the moment.

He regains his composure still chuckling a bit, giving me a grin. Dang he is attractive.

"You could've just told me you know," he says never losing that smile.

"Well it's embarrassing," I reply sheepishly, looking away. We stand in silence for a few moments before he speaks up again.

"Well that homework's not going to do itself." I nod and follow him out of the kitchen and into the living room/bedroom, and take a seat on the couch.

"What assignments do you need done?" I hesitate before answering him.

"Um, the last four."

"The last four?" He asks incredulously. I nod my head slowly, embarrassing myself for the umpteenth time today.

"No wonder your failing," he adds afterwords.

"How about ill do the first two assignments and you can do the two most recent assignments," he says. Is he being serious? Is he really offering to do two of my assignments? I voice my thoughts.

"You're really going to do two of assignments? That's to much really." I try to reason with him but he isn't having any of it.

"It's not a big deal really, it's pretty simple," he dismisses it with a wave of his hand and pulls out his laptop getting right to work. He didn't really give me room for argument, so I do as I'm told and pull out my own computer without a word spoken between us.

It remains like that for the rest of the time he was here. Completely silent while he types away with a concentrated look on his face, his eyebrows scrunched down and his lips set into a line. I can't help but peek a few times over my laptop at him while he works. Just as I'm getting started on the second one, he speaks.

"I'm done," is all he says looking at me expectantly. Seriously already? Maybe I had spent some of my time looking at him but seriously.

"That's great. Thank you so much." Honestly I couldn't have done without him.

"I emailed them to you so you should have them."

"Thanks again Louis I really appreciate it." I could tell he was getting uncomfortable with all my praise so I decided to drop it now.

"You could stay if you want to," I blurted out without thinking. You dummy.

He gives me a quick smile before answering. "I would love to except, I have work unfortunately." I try to play it off like it is no big deal, but I don't want him to go.

"Oh that's fine. Where do you work?" I ask trying to make him stay longer.

"Actually I'm a lifeguard down by the boardwalk at Santa Cruz," he says a smile playing on his lips. I couldn't help my own form onto my face.

"Really? I'm going to start working down at the boardwalk next week!" I say like it's some big coincidence, which it really is I got this job before I moved here.

"That's great will get to see each other even more now," he winked. I nodded my head, genuinely pleased that work did not seem so dreadful now.

He stood up, indicating that he really had to go now much to my dismay. I followed him to the door and we said our goodbyes with him giving me a half hug you would call it, giving me small butterflies which rarely happens I might add. I close the door and flop onto the couch, the pit in my stomach was remaining small which I was glad. Looking back down at my laptop, really not in the mood to do anything school related I pushed it aside with the promise to do it later.
