Unexpected Guest

Zach's POV:
when we got back to Alex's house, my mom was surprised to see Jack. i asked jack if he could play with Alex's brothers while i brought Alex upstairs. i carried her up in my arms and put her on her bed. i put her breathing thingy on under her nose and wrapped it around her ears like i've seen her do it once before the other night. she took deep breaths in and out. "are you ok?" i asked. she started tearing up and i pulled her in for a hug. "first i lost my mom, then my dad and i almost lost you to someone who i thought was my best friend." "hey, you will never lose me." i leaned my forehead against hers and we both took a deep breath. "Zach, how did she kidnap you in the first place?" she looked confused. "well an unknown number had been texting me. and i thought it was Jake or one of the guys from school pranking me. but then last night-" she cut me off. "wait, this has been happening and you didn't tell me? what else are you keeping from me zach?" "Alex-" that was when the door bell rang. Alex ripped off her breathing tube and rushed downstairs. when Myta opened the door, her aunt was standing there. "oh hello there." Myta asked confused. "who are you?" Alex's aunt demanded. "oh i'm myta. i live in town and i'm helping take care of Alex, Avery and the twins. Zach, my son, is Alex's boyfriend." 'wow mom just give her your ID and social security number why don't you" i thought. "Alex, why didn't you call me?" her aunt continued as she entered the house. "because i didn't want you here." Alex yelled causing Avery to jump. Jack tried calming her down. "how rude, you inconspicuous child." she looked like an uglier version of nanny mcfee. "auntie, i don't want you here. please leave. i'm handling this on my own." her aunt slapped her across the face. Avery started crying so i went over and picked her up walking back over to Alex. "i think you need to leave." i said taking action. "oh like i'm going to listen to my nieces' man whore." "Leave or i'm calling the police." my mom was holding the house phone up and looked furious. "very well. i'll leave you with your disastrous life. your mother and father were terrible parents anyway with the way they raised you young lady." Alex went to leap onto her aunt when i caught her with my free arm wrapping around her waist. "let her go Alex. she knows nothing of love or family." i said looking at Jack. "ugh i hate that woman." Alex ran up the stairs. i handed Avery to my mom and asked Jack to come upstairs with me. i knocked on the door and heard nothing but sobs coming from the other side. "Alex can we please come in." she walked up and unlocked the door and then face planted into her pillow. we sat on the bed and i was rubbing her back while jack looked around the room. Alex sat up and there was a red mark on her face. "ouch, that's gotta hurt." jack said handing her a cold rag. Alex put the tube back in and began to take more deep breathes. she was getting weaker each day and the doctor said we weren't any closer to getting a donor. i could tell Alex was ready to break down and give up but i won't let her. "are you still mad at me?" i asked her holding her hand. "not really, i'm just mad that you didn't tell me." she put her head on my shoulder. "Zach keeps shit from me all the time." jack started "like the fact that he had a gf. i still can't believe i found out about her over instagram!" jack said. "in my defense," they both gave me death stares. "never mind. i have no valid excuse" Alex stood up and listened by the door, my mom was baking cookies with Avery. "your mom is a complete lifesaver." Alex said. "she wanted me to tell you that when the kids go back to school, she can drop them off and pick them up when she gets Reese and Ryan." "aww that's so sweet." "mostly because she thinks you need to rest more. and," "and?" she looked scared. "and that's she wants to start coming with you to your doctors appointments" "of course." "sounds amazing but can we go and get chipotle?" Jack asked being the fact it was around lunch time. "sure!" Alex said. we wrote down the kids orders so we could bring them and my mom food back.
