She Didn't Have Time

Chapter 2

(Demi's pov)
Yesterday was the most devastating day of my life. My husband just left me with our baby Leah. I don't understand how he could do this to me. Our relationship was going so well. I actually thought he loved me. When we first got together we had to keep our relationship a serect because we didn't want the public to know I married a Jonas brother.

I remember when I told him I was pregnant with Leah he was so happy. We tried so many times to have a baby but I ended up having several miscarriages. On our honeymoon we tried again and I found out I was pregnant two weeks later.

I tossed and turned all night. I was still in shock that Nick would just leave us like that. I feel bad for Leah she's going to be scarred for life.

While my beautiful baby girl was asleep I decided to call Sirah. I was in desperate need of a babysitter while I was at work.

I dialed her number and waited for her to pick up.

"Hey Sirah! I need you to babysit Leah because I need to go to work and I have to go to get groceries afterwards. I'll pay you when I get back." My voice quivered. I hated having to rely on others but without Nick around I didn't have a choice.

"Sure I will be here right away. " Sirah answered.

"Thanks you're  the best."  I said as I was about to hang up the phone.

"See you soon." Sirah hung up the phone.

(Demi's pov)
I really hate leaving Leah with the babysitter. I trust Sirah with my life but I'm just scared to death that someone would try to abduct her.

I filled up her bottle with my formula just before Sirah showed up to babysit Leah.

While I was feeding Leah from the bottle I heard a knock on the door.

"Hey Sirah." I greeted her with a smile. She stepped over the threshold and closed the door behind her.

"Hey Demi, you look great since you were pregnant with this little princess." Sirah replied as she gave Demi a hug.

"Thank you so much. I'll see you after work. I love you both." Demi said as she gave Leah a hug and kiss goodbye and waved to Sirah.

"Say goodbye mommy." Sirah said to Leah.

"BYEEE mommy." Leah said sweetly. She held up her tiny hand to wave.

"Sirah, I filled the bottle for Leah and don't forget to put on Dora the explorer on. When she gets sleepy DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT forget her pink blanket." Demi said sternly.

"Don't worry. I won't because trust me I know." Sirah said smiling.

"Okay bye love you all." I replied blowing kisses at them as she walked out of the house and to her car.

(Demi's pov)
Since I had Leah I took a break from my career. I work as a waitress at a diner downtown. That way I have enough money for food and pay the rent.

The diner I'm working at is the place I had my first date with Nick . it was years before he asked me to marry him. That was when he loved me.

I'm trying to be a strong since Nick left but it's difficult. I've know him for so long. It's taking all I have not to break down and cry.

When I was pregnant I released my album Tell Me You Love Me. I announced on social media that I'll be on hiatus for a year or two because I want to focus on being a mother. Surprisingly my lovatics were super supportive as always. That's what I miss about singing and touring. The interaction between me and my fans.
