World's Apart (an Adventure Time fan-fic)

Chapter 5

Piper's p.o.v:

My palms felt slick with sweat and my breath was coming out in shallow gasps as peppermint butler cinched up the corset that would go under my ballgown. I was so freaking nervous about this date with Finn that i could just explode. Believe it or not, this was my very first time going out with a guy and to make it even worse, i was going to a royal ball in the candy kingdom and i had to wear a dress. I hate dresses. If i'm not wearing pants i feel like i'm too exposed and people will see my underwear or whatever.

"One moment, i'll go fetch your dress." Pepermint butler fastened the last button on my corset and went to the closet to pull out the most beautiful white ball gown with lace sleeves and matching lace to line the edges of the skirt. To make it look less like a wedding dress, a midnight blue satin sash was tied to the waist with a matching little flower to go in my hair. He also insisted on doing my hair so i let him with reluctance. He tied it into a neat braid that went down the length of my back.

I twirled around in front of the mirror and stared at my reflection in awe. All i wanted to do at this ball was to become invisible and hang out in the back round with Finn tonight but with this dress on, i would outshine the princess of the candy kingdom herself and honestly, i didn't mind like i thought i would. This dress gave me confidence.

"How do you like it?" i jumped as i heared pepermint butler's squeaky voice. "It was specially desighned to fit you're personality and compliment the your looks."

"It's lovely!" I began to twirl around in front of the mirror and smile. If everyone at the ball had specially designed outfits like this, Finn and i would be the most breathtaking people there.

Freezing in my tracks, i heared Princess Bublegum announce on the mic that the dancing would begin i gasped. I was late and had already missed dinner. I dashed out of the changing room and down the spiral staircase to the ball room to look for Finn and explain, pulling a chunk of sugary candy walls as i go for a snack.

"Finn!" i waved at him and smiled as i saw him waiting with Jake by the punch bowl. He didn't seem mad. Actually, when he saw me he looked excited. Poor Jake's hands were still bandaged from frostbite and he seemed to shiver ever so slightly as i neared. "Hi Jake. How are you feeling?"

"Humph!" He turned his back to me and shivered even more under his tuxedo, still trying to get the hypothermia out of his system. I looked up at Finn who was wearing a matching black tux. His cute little bear themed hat was off and his blond locks were sticking up messily. It actually made him look sort of edgy and handsome in a way.

"You look pretty tonight.... Do you want to dance?" He smiled a little and looked at me anxiouly.

"Yeah, that would be awesome. But first i need to get something. Be right back." I dashed back up the stairs to the bedroom in heels which proved to be quite difficult, to get a present i made for Finn. It wasn't much and i was a horrible artist but i didn't have any money to get him a real gift. It was a crudely picture of my home and the world i live in along with a picture of my family at the my last family reunion taped to the back. Some how this was the only thing that wasn't cartooned when i fell through the rip in time. I hoped he would like is since Finn seemed really interested about my world back in the past. Of course i wouldn't indicate in the picture that i came from back in time and that i was probably hundreds of years older than him.

I grabbed the gift from out of the pocket from my old clothes that were thrown in the closet carelessly and slowly came back down stairs this time, in fear of tripping over my high heels.

As i got down to the bottom stairs, i yelped in panic as a freezing blue hand grabbed me from behind and covered my mouth when i tried to call for help. "You look more and more like a princess every time is see you! He he." The Ice King's voice rang out in the silence. 

How did he ever get out of the nightosphere?

Hello my fans. I'm really sorry that i haven't been writing. i was on vacation and i got writers block but I'm back and working on the story again so yay! Hey, have any of you adventure time lovers seen the new episode where Finn finally hooks up with flame princess and they make out, causing her to almost destroy the land of Ooo? Princess Bubblegum was so jealous! I love how Finn and Jake told her off like that. She is such a pris not liking Finn then liking him again. It makes me sick! He has cried so many times over PB and I'm glad that he is finally over her. Anyway, i should quit my rantings and let you get back to your own stuff. Don't forget to comment, vote and fan!
