3| Last Minute Parties

The next day, Ned had been constantly asking questions about Peter's powers. Most of the questions weren't even logical ones. It was currently lunch time and Peter found himself longingly staring at Liz as she sat at a table across from his. He was infatuated by her without a doubt. A sigh escapes from his lips as Liz begins to laugh about something one of her friends had said. He knew how creepy it must've looked because of the way he was staring at her, but he didn't care at this point.

"Was El born with her powers or was she injected with them?" Ned asks, bringing Peter back into reality.

Peter looks over at Ned who had been staring at him waiting for the answers to his question. "Born with them." Peter answers, remembering the night him and El got slushies. That was the night the two became friends.

Ned furrows his eyebrows together, not believing what Peter had said was true. "Are you sure?" He asks. "That doesn't seem possible. None of her family so how could she?"

Peter shrugs his shoulders, remembering him and El trying to figure out how she was born with her powers. It was about a week after the two had gotten back from Germany and El was determined to find out how she was born with her powers. Sadly the two never figured it out. Peter soon turns back towards Liz, smiling at the sight of her. It  went back to being silent between the two as Peter stared at Liz and as Ned got lost in his thoughts.

It wasn't long till El walks up to the two, wearing a dress once again. After she moved into the tower with Tony, he had Pepper take her shopping for a better wardrobe and ended up getting a lot of dresses. "Have you guys seen Mj?" El asks, interrupting the two's silence. She had been searching for Mj around the school but just couldn't seem to find her.

Ned's eyes widened as he looks up at El, maybe she could answer his question. "I have a question for you."

El raises an eyebrow, wondering what the question was. "Answer mine then I'll answer yours." She explains, taking a seat right across from Ned. Her eyes scan towards Peter, oticing him staring at something that behind her.

"No we haven't seen Mj." Ned answers her question, grabbing her attention away from Peter. El furrowed her eyebrows together wondering where her best friend had gone. "Okay so were you born with your powers, or were you injected."

El thins her lips out, thinking about the question. She was a bit uncomfortable talking about this subject, but it was a simple answer. "Injected." She shrugs her shoulders.

Ned smirks, knowing that he was right and Peter was wrong. "You were wrong Peter." He states, elbowing Peter in the side, grabbing his attention. A groan escapes from Peter as he glares at Ned. It didn't take him long to notice El who had been sitting across from him.

"W-When did you get here?" Peter stuttered, awkwardly crossing his arms onto the table. He was hoping El didn't notice him staring at Liz. He didn't know for  sure if she was over him or not. He didn't want to know id she was or not.

El rolled her eyes before giving Peter a 'really' look. "A couple minutes ago." She responds. "But you were busy staring at..." Peter's eyes widen as El turns around to see what he had been staring at. El's heart drops once her eyes come in contact with Liz. She had been smiling with one her friends as they talked about God knows what. El thins her lips, looking over at Peter who sat there, looking down awkwardly, refusing to make eye contact with her.
