As the week on, El and Peter found theirselves bored with school and everything else. They didn't have that same spark of excitement when the last bell of the day rang. But now it was Thursday, a day away from homecoming.El had her date with Elijah tonight, and still hadn't told Peter about it. Ned and Mj new because they were part of the plan for El to get over Peter.
El sat quietly to herself, poking at her food, feeling very nervous about the date tonight. Mj noticed this, pulling her tray away from her to see if she would stop poking at her food.
Without even noticing, El kept poking at nothing. It took her a while to finally realize that she had been poking at nothing. She quickly looked up at Mj and noticed her giving her a worried expression.
"Are you okay El?" She asked, worried for her friend.
El nodded her head, not bothering to take back her food. She knew good and well if she took one bite she was destined to puke everywhere.
"Yeah I'm fine." She lied, slightly rubbing her face. "Just tired, that's all."
Mj knew she was lying, she could tell by the way she would rub her face. "Are you sure it's not about this whole date thing?" She asked.
El's eyes widened as she slowly nodded her head. "Yeah, why would you think that?" She asked, rubbing her face once more.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's because you're going on a date with a guy you don't like, to get over a guy you do like." Mj shrugs, smugly smirking. She knew that she was right and there was no denying it. "So, what did Tony tell you?"
El rolled her eyes at the question, Peter still had been trying to get it out of her and must've decided to have Mj ask her.
"I'll tell you when I'm ready." She answered, shrugging her shoulders. Her eyes widened once she noticed Peter walking towards them along with Ned.
Mj chuckled, slightly shaking her head. She stood up, taking both her and El's tray along.
"Good luck." She chuckled, walking off and leaving El to herself.
"Mj!" She whispered exclaimed, hoping she would come back. But sadly she didn't, she walked off leaving El alone.
Both Peter and Ned took a seat from across El, slightly smiling at her.
"Hey El." Peter greets her. "I was wondering if you wanted to come over after school and study for the spanish test with me."
El felt her heart slightly break, knowing very good and well that now was the time to tell Peter about her date. Her eyes darted over to Ned who's eyes widened.
"And May was wondering if you wanted to stay for dinner?" He offered. "Y'Know since it's been a while since you've eaten with us." He shrugged his shoulders, making El's heart break even more.
Not only did she have to tell Peter but now she wasn't able to see May.
"I-I can't tonight." El explained, praying that Peter wouldn't ask why.
"Why?"
Shit. She thought to herself.
"U-Uh." She stuttered, quickly looking over to Ned for help. Ned quickly looked away, not wanting to be part of this situation. A sigh escaped from her lips and she began to slightly rub her face. "I-I'm seeing Tony." She lied.
Peter furrowed his eyebrows, tilting his head to the side. "No you're not." He stayed, shaking his head. "You're lying. I can tell because when you lie you rub your face."
