~(Y/N)'s P.O.V.~
"A long time ago, when Jordan and I had only been friends for about five years, I had almost died. How? I actually can't say. I just know that my powers of healing had failed me amd Jordan went and saved my life," I answer Logan, slightly looking over to Jordan who was laying on the floor with her skittles bag.
I turned back to Logan and took a deep breath in, trying to collect all my past memories, especially the time where death had waited to take me to the grave, or atleast where I waited for death to take me instead.
"Well, some time long ago," I start. "Jordan and I were celebrating our 5 years as best friends anniversary. We went out, grabbed something to eat, went shopping and then headed to Jordan's house. That night, Jordan's parents, know that they did indeed like her at one point, were at home waiting for me to drop Jordan off and say my goodbyes, but when we got home, a long lost friend of mine was waiting for me with Jordan's parents at gun point."
I heard Jordan move from being uncomfortable. That night was the night her parents kicked her out. That night was the night I caused my best friend to loose everything. Jordan had every right to feel uncomfortable, and I have every right to feel guilty.
*Time Warp*
"(Y/N) youre fucking retarded! You could've easily just waited! You didn't need to run the cat over! You should go apologize to that little girl you probably just scarred for life," Jordan scorned me as we walked up to her parent's house.
"I would if I could, but I can't so I won't," I triumphantly say.
Jordan shook her head and sighed, internally cursing me for ruining other people's lives on purpose. I guess that's what I get for being immortal.
When Jordan opened the door, she skipped inside and placed her bags of new clothes on the floor. I followed her inside just to make sure someone was home and I apologized for taking so long.
"Mom!" Jordan called. "We're home!"
I hurt a thump, sort of like a piece of metal hitting rock coming from the kitchen. It wasn't loud so I suspected nothing of it.
"We're in the kitchen darling," Jordan's mother called.
Jordan and I made our way to the kitchen and as soon as we did, Jordan dropped her box of left over chinese food all over the floor. What caught her attention would've given me a heart attack and if anyone had asked what had happened, I wouldn't have been able to explain it fully, but to make it clear, an old friend of mine, Maggie, had Jordan's parent's on the ground with guns pointed to their heads.
*Time Warp*
"The old friend of mine was named Maggie," I said, coming back from my memories of the past. "It turned out to be that Maggie was looking for Jordan to use as bait to get revenge on me for something I had done in the past. Jordan, not being a mutant, was helpless so I had to step in. The fight was a blood bath, mostly of my blood. I was shot four times in the back, three in the legs, five in the head, and two on the fists. Some of my wounds had healed but right when Maggie had hit my fists, something wasn't right. My claws broke and my healing factor shortened, leaving me vulnerable. It wasn't until Jordan stepped in had I begun to win the fight.
"Maggie was a mutant, a poison mutant you could say, but she didn't have a healing factor, which was a major advantage. Luckily, from past muggings and Jordan learning some martial arts, Jordan was able to take Maggie's gun and have her run off with mulitple wounds."
I looked to Jordan who had decided to sit while staring at a wall. I imagined she was still eating her skittles only more aggressively because I could hear the bag make loud noises as she dug her hand into it.
When I looked back to Logan, I had noticed he had his hand on my leg as I told the story. I didn't even realize he had it there. I suddenly felt soothed as I realized that he was looking at me with such understanding and concern for me. The way he looked at me made me realize that I really wasn't alone in this world. Maybe I might actually see the day I'd die happily with the person I love.
If that's even possible.
"Finish the story, (Y/N)," Logan said, curiosity in his eyes.
I nodded and continued with the story. "After Maggie was gone and we got Jordan's parent's taken care of, Jordan's step-father stepped in and started pushing me out of the house."
*Time Warp*
"Get out! Get out you freak!" Jordan's step-father screamed at me as he pushed me towards his now ruined front door.
I nearly fell over from the wounds and weak state I was at. I didn't feel good, my wounds weren't healing correctly and I was loosing energy to even breathe. I reached the door frame and couldn't hold myself up anymore.
"Stop! Stop it! Leave (Y/N) alone!" I heard Jordan yell.
"(Y/N)? Is that her name? You shouldn't even believe her when she says that! She could be a killer for all we know! A liar and a theif! She couldv'e hurt you, Jordan! Do you even know what these," Jordan's step-father paused for a second. "freaks could do?"
"Yes! I do know and I don't care! Not all of them are bad you know! She saved us! She helped us! Why can't you see that?"
"It's none of your business!"
Jordan's step-father turned back to me and started to kick me out the door, I winced as his foot hit my sides and my wounds began to bleed again. His kicking didn't stop until I felt Jordan get on top of me, stopping him from kicking me to death.
"Stop!"
"No!"
I watched as Jordan grabbed her step-father's leg and scream stop over and over again. Her step-father stopped and backed away, huffing harshly.
"Get your freak friend out of here and make sure you get home safely, Jordan."
"No."
There was an awkward silence for a few seconds and all I could wonder was whether I was going to live or both Jordan and I were going to die.
