(Before the Adamantium Procedure)

They say love at first sight is real, but in all honesty it's stupid and a straight up hoax. Love shouldn't be so simple, so easy; it's complex and twisted. Love has corners, ones that are so sharp you never know what's hiding on the other side.

Perhaps these thoughts are what's keeping me from looking back at Logan. Maybe I don't want to feel the fling, the zing, the monster of all things; love at first sight. I'm going to keep my pretty little ass turned around and face that handsome devil.

One look won't hurt, right?

Turning around on my tree branch, my (A/C) eyes laid themselves upon the shirtless man who claimed to be the mighty Logan Howlett. The once buck-naked male who sat in my now blown up barn was standing in the clearing of a dense forest, vowing loyalty.

Just one.

What was it about him that made my cheeks burn? The dark tint to his skin in the pale moon light. Maybe it was the sharp edge to his jaw; beard shaved nicely. What about his eyes, oh, those beautiful hazel eyes? Was it his body? The way his skin hugged each muscle so tightly made me tense up. His pants guarded him from naughtier things that might creep in my head; the position was almost too perfect.

One...

"May I help you?"

His sudden deep voice made my skin crawl as I realized how sinful my stare had become. Jumping a little, I folded my arms back across my chest and turned back around, allowing Logan to finish whatever it was he was doing. My eyes burned as they screamed at me to turn back around, maybe one more look won't hurt; he won't see.

As I turned around, I came face to face with those beautiful hazel eyes. With arms holding himself up, Logan pulled close to my face, interested in my actions.

"You stare a lot, kid," Logan laughed.

"I'm not a kid, old man," I teased back. "Now back off, you're invading my personal space."

Looking at him, I couldn't tell whether Logan was enjoying himself or he was genuinely upset that I was staring at him. His sudden move made it clear to me that he was playing around; he pulled closer.

"Make me," he growled.

Queue the burning cheeks.

Unsheathing my claws, I made it clear I wanted the hot man to back away. As much as thinking such a contradictory statement was painful, I couldn't let him distract me like this. I had brooding and reticent staring to do.

Logan caught my drift, dropping down from my branch and returning to his place in the clearing. A small chuckle echoed from his mouth as he turned around on his heels and did a small dance for me.

"Do you like watching me change?" Logan cooed at me, pulling at my emotions. This was obviously a part of his personality that I was lucky to have seen. "I can dance for you."

"No," I reply. "Now stop it, you look like an idiot."

With a serious expression on his face, Logan dropped his arms and pulled his shirt back on, his abdominal muscles flexing as he lifted his arms up and over his head. When he popped his head through, his hair bounced back into the same sharp cut they were in before.

"Good," he finally said. "Because you're never going to see me do it again. Now keep your creepy eyes to yourself and we won't have any issues. Now if you don't mind me, I'm going to sleep, so keep your secretive staring to yourself."

Oh, how the cheeks burn.

"Rude," I scoff, turning around. "Only creepy one here is you, old man."

"I heard that," Logan called out.

"I heard that," I mocked in a yappy and high pitched voice. "Let me stick to my "secretive staring" while you go to sleep."

With a small sigh, Logan went silent leaving me to my brooding. I needed to save Jordan, not stare at sexy men who act like assholes. I don't need to look at him, I have an imagination, one that runs wild when I look at men,

And it just so happens I fell in love with one at first sight.
