Third Person:
After searching for the Teacher's Room to look for coffee he found it with a fresh brew of coffee sitting in the coffee maker hot and ready. "Finally." He mumbled to himself. He walked in and set his hat on the table before pouring himself a mug of coffee then sitting down in the seat closes to the wall facing the door. As he sat there he unholstered his Colt Navy revolver and stuck it under his hat in case someone came in to finish something they started. As he sat there he heard the sound of heels and shoes hitting the floor walking in the general direction of the room he was in with some chattering going on. "What do think of this gunfighter Ozpin took in?" "Peter, he didn't bring him in, he blackmailed him into joining us." "What makes you say that Glynda?" "I was in the same room with Ozpin as he called the Council about him." They kept talking as they got closer not expecting to see a man drinking coffee staring at them with his hand under his hat. As they got to the door and walked in they stopped and stared at the man sipping his drink and watching them without saying a word except Peter. "How's your room sir?" He asked with the same enthusiasm as before. The gunfighter took his hand out from under his hat and switched the mug in hand and answered, "It's not home, but it'll do for now. Thanks for the help earlier Mr. Port." While Peter took a sit in front of him, Glynda and Bartholomew took a seat on the far side of the table away from him. "So what's it like living the life of a bounty hunter? It has to exhilarating." The gunfighter looked at him questionably and answered, "Exhilarating? I don't where you come from professor, but exhilarating isn't what we say when killing wanted men and women." Peter's smile started to fade and asked another question. "I wasn't exactly asking about that, I was more or less asking abou-" "About the thrill of searching for someone in an open landscape, hunting them while not getting eaten by some beowolf following me? Let me remind you about hunting another man, when you that he's gonna either be dead or dying when you find him. They never turn themselves in alive unless they're guaranteed a chance of freedom from their crimes." Peter stayed silent as the Gunfighter finished his coffee and got up to put the mug in the room's sink. As he walked back to his seat to grab his hidden gun and hat, Bartholomew spoke up and asked, "What's your name mister? You happen to know ours, but we don't kno-" Bartholomew stopped before he could finish his question when he saw the cocked gun under his hat as he lifted it up and onto his head. He grabbed the gun and set the hammer back to its resting place before holstering it and answering, "I don't reckon I'll ever have one." He left the room in silence and made his way back to his room wondering when he was gonna get a job so he could get away from that place. Back in the room Glynda looked at Peter and Bartholomew and continued what they were talking about. "He's too dangerous to be around these students." Bartholomew nodded but professor Port countered her argument. "I think he would be a great teacher! He could show these young hunters and huntresses how to track, survive, and defend themselves in dangerous scenarios." Glynda and Bartholomew both stared at him as if he was crazy. "Did you roll off your bed and land on your head when you woke up this morning?" Glynda asked. "No I woke up fine and dandy."
Gunfighter's POV:
I immediately went straight back to my room and grabbed my Creedmoor Sharps Rifle, and some ammunition before locking my room up and heading outside to practice my aim. As I walked down the hallways towards the rear entrance of this place some of the students I passed by whispered to each other and moved out of my way as I passed them. As I came to the exit I set the ammo in my vest pocket and searched my other pockets for an unfinished cigar I had left. After pulling it out I pulled a match out and struck the match with the end of my thumb and lit it. Putting the match out, I picked the rifle up once more and walked outside and looked for a large open area to shoot some targets when I noticed as I walked towards the open area behind Beacon that the students who got done with class were all staring at me till I looked back at them with a shadow covering my face from the sun bearing down on top of me. I took a long drag from my cigar before finding JC walking towards me and stood where I laid the ammo and set myself up for a nice target to shoot at. Kneeling down I pushed the lever forward to open the breach and load a round into the camber and closed it before adjusting the rear sight as I aimed down towards the edge where I waited for something to land. Waiting wasn't a problem for me except the kids who watched from a distance and whispered to each other. Damn children! Bite your tongue and shut up so something can land in peace. As I kept wanting to yell at them a large bird landed near the edge and started to peck at the ground probably looking for food. I stood still as I took aim down the barrel through the sight. Steadying my aim I started to put my finger on the trigger to fire when someone came behind me and startled me. "I never got to thank you for saving me back in Vale mister." I jerked to my left glaring daggers at the man who just scared the bird off only to realize...it was a young girl, the same one I helped back in Vale. She jumped back when I glared at her, but I quickly stopped trying to kill her with an angered expression and calmed myself down. "You're welcome miss." I kinda hoped she would take that and leave but she suddenly got excited when I lifted my rifle once more. She didn't say anything except stare at it like it was made of gold. "Can I help you youngin?" She quickly moved up to me with rose petals following her and yelled excitedly, "OMG WHAT KIND OF GUN IS THAT!? WHAT DOES IT TURN INTO!? CAN I PLEASE SHOOT IT!? PRETTY, PRETTY PLEASE!?" I jumped up and back a bit when she became hiper and aimed the rifle down to the ground for safety reasons and answered her. "Woah-woah-woah-woah! Now calm down will you? It's nothing special, only a 18XX Sharps Rifle. It doesn't turn into anything except the heads of the people beside the person I'm after when I pull the trigger." She freaked out a bit when I said that last bit but calmed down when she remembered who I was and what I do. I pulled the lever once more and emptied the chamber before closing the breach and handing it to her since she kept staring at it curiously. "How come you took the round out?" She cried to me. "I don't need you getting hurt by my gun." "Wwwhhhyyyy? I can easily shoot this without injuring myself! Look at my weapon!" She handed me my rifle before pulling her weapon out again and unfolding it to its scythe mode before it changed into what looks like a rifle as well. What the hell kind of scythe is that!? I mentally asked myself while raising an eyebrow questionably looking at it. She held it ahead of herself aiming down the way I was before shooting a small rock near the cliff's edge. "See! I can handle it." I looked where she shot and nodded in approval. "That's impressive miss-" "It's Ruby mister. What's your name?" I calmly looked back at her and extended my arm with the rifle in hand while answering, "Pleasure Miss Ruby, I've never had a name so mister will do just fine." As much as I hate it when everyone here kept asking me for my name I just decided to lie to her like everyone else. She folded her weapon away and grabbed the rifle out of my hand aimed down range with it before I spoke up. "You're gonna need this." I said holding the bullet out towards her. "Before you ask I'll tell you. To open the breach you need to push the trigger guard forward." She looked at the trigger guard and cautiously pushed her fingers against it and pushed it forward opening the breach. "Now take this and slip it in all the way. Don't let the case hang out, it'll blocked the breach from closing." She did as I instructed and readied herself to fire it before asking, "How do I zoom in?" I sighed and gently grabbed the gun and pointed it up and showed her how to adjust the rear sight to her choice and gave it back to her. She moved it down a bit before aiming down once more and squeezing the trigger and nearly falling back from the recoil. "Woooaaahhh!" I gently put my hand behind her keeping her balanced and said, "It's black powder ammunition. A lot more kick than a regular round." She handed me the rifle and opened her mouth to ask a question we we both looked toward the rear entrance when Good witch yelled, "What are you doing Miss Rose!? You know it's against school rules to discharge a weapon on school grounds without probable cause!" I took the rifle and looked at the woman as I said, "She did have probable cause, she wanted to try this rifle and I let her." I took opened the rifle's breach once more and loaded another round into it and took the cigar butt in my mouth and threw it in the air before shooting it in half before it touched the ground. I looked back to see Glynda glaring at me before I glared back at her with a scowl and said, "Now back off or I'll jab that crop rider down your throat." She jumped back at my threat and walked away. I looked back at Ruby who looked down and said she had to go. "Apologies Ruby. I'm not exactly on good terms with her here. If she gives you hell for this just let me know and I'll take her wrath okay." She gave me a brighter smile and thanked me for the moment with the rifle and what I said before taking off with inhuman speed. I looked at the two halves of the cigar butt and searched my pockets for another cigar. I lit it up and took a drag before putting putting another round in and thinking to myself. This is either gonna be an interesting experience, or a living hell.
~Special Thanks to thinman46 for the Sharps rifle idea.~
(I will be using the Bowie knife and Sabre later in the story so don't worry, I didn't forget those)
