"Attention passengers! We will be landing shortly ,so please buckle your seat belts and store all carry on items under your seat! Also, make sure your food trays and seats are restores to thier full and upright position". I was abruptly awakened by a cheerful voice and a series of movements made by the passengers directly beside me. I checked to make sure my seat belt was buckled, and I put my magazins back into my purse. I looked out the window to my right , and I was greeted by the sights of extremely large buildings. My first glimpse of New York. As the plane descended ,I could make out the empire state building from the slew of tall structures below. I felt the plane jolt as it hit the runway, and as it slowed to an eventual stop. "Thank you for flying with Southwest Airlines, and we appreciate your cooperation!" The same, overly-cheery voice said as it came over the speakers. I gathered my bag from the overhead compartment, and slung my purse over my shoulder. Just then, my phone buzzed. FROM: Lou - " ill be waiting for you at the bag pick up cant wait to see you love xx" I smiled to myself as I made my way off the plane and headed up the ramp and into the JFK airport. The sign above me said luggage pick up was to the right. After a few more minutes of reading signs, I finally made it to the baggage claim. I searched through the sea of people trying to pick out anyone who resembled my aunt. Finally I layed eyes on a blonde haired and blue eyed woman waving frantically. My grin widened as I ran over to her and embraced her tightly. I stepped back to get a good look at her. She was beautiful. That was one thing I loved about my Aunt Lou. Even with her hair pulled back into a sloppy bun ,old sweatshirt ,yoga pants, and sunglasses, she still looked better than I did . Her smile widened and she quickly kissed me on the cheek. " How was your flight?", her British accent making me smile. " It was fine, I'm just tired." "Trust me I've been there. Come On, Let's get your bags, and then maybe some dinner." I nodded and linked arms with her as we made our way over to the conveyor belt littered with luggage. I was immediately able to pick out my three pieces of luggage. We made our way to the airport exit, making small talk as we walked. A black vehicle with tinted windows was parked right outside the door of the airport. A man dressed in all black took my luggage from me before I had time to protest, and ushered us into the car.
"London hotel, 151 West 54th street" my aunt ordered. The driver nodded. My aunt turned to me, a more serious look on her face. "Love, did Kathy tell you about the whole tour deal?" Kathy was a friend of my family's that I had been staying with for he past two months. Kathy did tell me that my aunt was a stylist to a boy band, and I would accompanying my aunt on the band's tour through some places I had never heard the name of. They were just ending their tour in America, and in a matter of days, we would be off tp begin thier European tour. It would be a big change but honestly I hadn't had anytime to really think about that. I nodded and she continued, " Now the band I work for is sort of--" she pauses, as if trying to find the right words "well- known. There will be lots of fans outside our hotel, and I brought you something to wear until we get into the building." She handed me some black sunglasses and a hoodie. I pull on the sweatshirt and shades quickly. She begins typing on her phone. " I just let security know we're almost to the hotel." Security? This must actually be a big deal. I was thinking more along the lines of an indie band that did coffee house gigs. The vehicle suddenly came to a stop , and I heard the muffled sound of screams. I took a look out of the window and gasped. There were millions of girls. Teenagers, moms, and even some older women. They were all screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. I looked over to my aunt, and she was intently typing on her phone. " Is this normal?" I inquired, my voice a little higher than usual. " Yupp" she replied, popping the " p". Honestly, it was a tad frightening to see all these girls screeching , some crying, and many of them were dressed in funny costumes. Suddenly, it occurred to me that we would have to get into the hotel somehow, and we would probably have to walk through the crowd of fans. We had pulled up to the entrance of the hotel and the crazed fans were congregating around the car. I started to panic slightly. Thankfully, before my mind had a chance to psych itself out even more, a big , burly man approached the vehicle and opened the door. Lou stepped out and greeted the man as if they were best friends, which they probably were. The man turned to me and gave me a small smile. I grinned back and hopped out of the car, thanking the driver. As we made our way to the entrance of the hotel, I found myself inching closer to the security guard. He was my only safe haven in this sea of insane females. He placed an arm on mine and Lou's shoulder , guiding us to the door. Lou gave the giant glass door a push. As we entered the hotel, my jaw dropped. A beautiful crystal chandiler hung from the ceiling, its light
glistening off the marble interior. The wall panel behind the front desk was made of glass with a mural , depicting a part of new york, directly behind it.The marble floor was tiled with unique geometric designs, and the fireplace was giving off immense heat. Everyone who worked at the hotel was dressed immebecibly. Crisp black suits, pencil skirts, and white gloves. Lou smirks at my expression and I grin back. She tells the concierge at the front desk to take my suitcases to the london atrium suite on the third floor. I follow her to the elevator . The ride is quick , even though the suite is on the third floor. I follow her down a series of hallways and finally my aunt stops in front of a door marked "Suite 32B". As we enter, I hear a soft cry, as if from a baby. Lou flicks on the light and I'm stunned once again. " Welcome Home," Lou grins at me as she makes her way into a bedroom. I decide to take a look around. There are two beds in this suit, a full sized kitchen, and two bathrooms. The vast window holds an amazing view over the Hudson river and central park. It's about 9 pm so the city below looks beautiful all covered in lights. I'm brought back to reality by a tug on my dress. I look down to find an adorable little girl who looks to be about a year or so old. I smile down at her, "Hello , there." she grins back. She had a round face with big blue eyes, and her brown blonde hair was pulled up on top of her head. I pick her up and carry her to the kitchen to find my aunt warming up some Chinese food. "I see you've meet my little Lux." Lou smiles down at Lux and kisses her on the forehead. I had heard my aunt was pregnant a year or so ago, but my family rarely ever went to visit her, so I never met my cousin. "She's adorable. How old is she?" , I ask. " 9 months," she replies "Wow your a big girl, aren't you?" Lux smiles back at me, and begins squirming. I put her down and she crawls to her play mat it the middle of the kitchen." So what's the deal with the whole band thing?" she hands me a plate of sweet and sour chicken. " You eat, I'll talk." I smile as I pop a piece of chicken into my mouth.
