Yao smiles as Katyusha waves him goodbye from the door. He waves back, already eager to call Ivan.

The night was full of random talks, watching stupid movies and such. Yao enjoyed it. Luckily, Nataliya didn't murder him in his sleep. He honestly thought he would have to stay up all night so he wouldn't be stabbed.

Getting back to the hotel, Yao immediately throws himself on the bed and dials Ivan's number.

"Dude, who's that?" Alfred asks, picking up Ivan's phone.

Ivan snatches his phone. "Probably no one importa- It's Wang Yao-"

"Well then answer the bloody phone, hurry up!"

Ivan hold the phone to his ear, the soft and tender voice flooding his senses.

"Ni Hao, Vanya."

"Hello, Yao-Yao."

Well, that was a start. Ivan felt anxiety growing in his chest. What if Yao turned him down?

"Did you sleep well?"

Was that really the best you could come up with?

Ivan knew he sounded like a complete dork.

"Yes, aru. And you?"

"Da..."

How did Yao have the ability to make a grown man go soft? These were questions Ivan didn't have the answer to.

"I miss you, aru."

He missed him. Shit- okay, Ivan play it cool.

He didn't even think he'd make it this far. His face was bright red.

"I-I miss you, too."

Why did he become a stuttering mess around Yao? When did he become a stuttering mess around Yao?

"Have you eaten yet?"

"N-no, not yet."

"Aiyah, you have to eat." Here comes the motherly scolding. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, aru."

"Heh, I know, Yao-Yao, I'll eat soon."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

Well, no going back now. It wouldn't be the first time he had skipped a meal.

"We're you okay? Did Nataliya do anything?"

"No, surprisingly. Everything was fine, aru."

Ivan was relieved. At least he didn't die.

"Did the other men give you a hard time, aru?"

"What do you mean?"

"Did they ask you questions about us, aru?"

Oh, that's what he meant. Ivan, get a clue. After mentally cussing himself out, he took a deep breath. "Da, they don't know what privacy is. And the girls?"

"Too many questions, aru!"

Ivan could hear a small laugh from the other side of the phone. It made his heart flutter.

"I want to see you before the meeting, aru."

Holy shit-

Ivan had to keep his cool. He couldn't blow this.

"We can. Do you- do you want to go out? Together?"

There was silence for a moment. Ivan was sure he messed up, he lost his chance.
