Ivan closes the door to his room, Yao turning to face him.

"I...I'm a little nervous, aru..."

"Be a good slut, Yao..." Arthur breathed in his ear, causing a shiver to shoot up his spine.

Yao brushed those memories away as he pressed his lips to Ivan's, who ran his hands down Yao's back.

"Are you sure, Yao?"

No

"Yes, aru..."

Ivan moves Yao towards his bed, gently laying him down.

He was worried. He was scared. Ivan didn't want to hurt Yao. If Yao wasn't ready, he didn't want to do it.

He began with gently sliding his hand up Yao's dress, making Yao whimper slightly.

"Yao-Yao?"

"C-continue, aru..."

Ivan places his lips on Yao's neck, gently nipping at the skin.

Yao's eyes mist quickly, terrible memories flooding back. He thought he could do this.

"Stop, please, aru!"

Ivan quickly pulls away, brushing away all thoughts.
He pulls Yao into a tight embrace, whispering in his ear.

"Shh, it's okay, I'm here, I'm here."

"I'm sorry, aru...!"

"No, no, it's okay."

Yao cries into Ivan's chest, gripping onto his shirt. "You wanted this, I ruined that, I'm sorry, Vanya...!"

"No, Yao..." Ivan runs his fingers through Yao's hair. "You told me that you didn't want to. That's good." He smiles in a supportive manner.

"Y-you're not angry, aru...?"

"Of course not, I'm proud of you."

Yao could feel himself calming down slightly. "I...I wanted to, I really did but...I can't...he ruined it for me, aru..."

"It's fine, podsolnukh."

Ivan held tightly onto Yao, unwilling to let go.
"Don't blame yourself, Yao-Yao..."

"I'm sorry, aru..."

Ivan wipes Yao's tears away with a smile. "Let's get out of here, shall we? The night is still young, there are places I want to take you."

Yao smiles, getting up from the bed, taking Ivan's hand. "Let's go, aru..."

Ivan held onto Yao's hand, smiling lightly.

The two walked the streets of Russia hand in hand.

Yao couldn't have been happier. Alone with Ivan, the one who wrote his way to Yao's heart. The one who's words left Yao defenseless.

"It's beautiful, aru..."

"You're beautiful."

Yao punches Ivan in the arm, a slight grin on his face. "No way. You're just blind, Vanya."

"No, I merely have good taste, Yao-Yao." He chuckles, looking at Yao.

Of course, Yao's face goes red. "Not good enough, aru."

Ivan shakes his head. He knew he wouldn't ever be able to get Yao to take a compliment, but Yao's reactions were enough to satisfy him.

"You're just too hard on yourself, podsolnukh." He says, kissing Yao's hand.

"Aiyah, why are you so open, aru?"

"Why not, Yao-Yao?"

The brunette looks away in embarrassment. He makes no effort to move his hand, though.

"Where else are we going, aru?"

"I'll show you, podsolnukh." Ivan smiles.

He opens the door to a café, holding it open for Yao.

"Thank you, aru."

Ivan nods and walks inside.

Time Skip brought to you by my non existent will to live

"How did you learn to write so well, Vanya?" Yao asks, brushing his bangs out of his face.

Ivan was surprised. He didn't expect Yao to ask him about the letters.

All he could let out was a slight "Huh?".

Ivan felt stupid. Just a 'huh', Ivan?

After internally cussing himself out, he decides to respond.

"I suppose writing has always been a passion of mine." He smiles.

Yao's heart beats faster. "Writing is truly one of your skills, aru." He beams. "Your letters are the highlights of my days."

The Russian could feel his face growing hot. "Y-you think so?"

"Of course, aru!"

"Wh-why is that, Yao-Yao?"

Yao smiles happily, his eyes sending Ivan's heart soaring. "You're so sweet in your letters, aru. I have never felt so helpless."

His writing made so much of an impact?

Ivan was taken by surprise. "I only write the truth." He responds, his face bright red.

The Asian grows wide eyed. "The truth...?"

"O-of course, solnishko." Ivan mumbles, fidgeting with his scarf. "I write what I see...I see a wonderful young man who makes my life worth living..." He says softly.

Yao could only stare at Ivan in shock.

He had made Ivan's life worth living...? He made such a big impact on this strong, young man?

"Vanya...?"

"I'm so happy you are alive, Yao..." Ivan smiles, his voice cracking slightly. "You are the sunshine in my life."

Yao was still in shock. He was 'shook' as Americans would say.

"I make you...feel that way, aru?" He asks.

Oh, so he's sweet and dense...

"Of course, Yao-Yao...I wouldn't ever lie to you." He responds.

"You...wouldn't...?"

"Never, moya podsolnukh..."

Walking Yao back to the hotel, Ivan keeps his arm around his Chinese lover.

His heart raced.

Kiku was probably going to kill him, either way.

Even so, he had no regrets. He had had the best time of his life tonight.

It hurt him to have to return Yao.

He wanted to keep Yao forever, holding the Asian close and giving him all the love he deserved.

Maybe someday...

"I had fun tonight, aru. Thank you." Yao says softly, making Ivan's heart beat quicker.

"As did I, Yao-Yao."

Yao looks into Ivan's eyes. "I hope we can do this again soon, aru..."

This was his chance.

Ivan presses his lips to Yao's, giving him a soft kiss.
