Congress approved of the Battalion but then Henry "my slaves are all happy with me" Laurens refused to give John a hand, the fucking House of Representatives of SC would rather surrender to the British than accept John's plan and then they slowed his plan down by sending him to freaking France.I mean John even had an idea of how he wanted the uniforms.
They were white.
Because John Laurens.
He wanted to use white cloth for his black battalion uniforms because it was "easily kept clean" and because he thought it would look good against their complexion (he ain't wrong, dark skinned people in white clothes can slay me)
On another note! There's actually a comic book about John Laurens! It's called "A Loose Cannon The John Laurens Story" but I have no idea where to read it/buy it so I'm pretty much in pain right now.
