I can't find that story right know so don't quote me on this, but I remember reading Harry spent months doing nothing at school because his teachers didn't force it and John didn't tell his father anything about it. If this turns to actually be true I can 100% see John as the kind of dad who'd team up with his child and hide things the kid has done to the other parent (basically John would be the Cool Dad ™)
This headcanon only gets better because Hamilton seemed to be the worrier "hOLY SHIT PHILIP YOU SNEEZED ARE YOU SURE YOU CAN GO TO SCHOOL!?" kind of dad (I'm not an expert on Hamilton so don't quote me on that either. Just don't quote me on anything I say this chapter—) so like just imagine them being parents together. It'd be the shit.
