Olivia:

"So you two aren't together anymore?" Sam leaned back into his seat as we drove away from the parking lot.

"Not... really," I hesitated, unsure of what to say.

"I see," Sam swerved the car and suddenly pulled over to the side of the road.

"What are you doing?" I looked at him, confused.

"You need to go talk to him," Sam turned to face me.

"What? Why?" I frowned at him. "What about our date?"

"See, I can't date girls who aren't sure if they want to be with me or not. I can't date girls who still like someone else," he crossed his arms and stared through his window. "And it's obvious you still have feelings for Shayne. You were just using me to make him jealous. I know how it works, Olivia," he turned back towards me.

"But I like you, Sam," I put my hand on his shoulder. "Let's just go on our date," I forced a smile.

"I like you too, Olivia. But you need to talk to Shayne," he turned back onto the road and made a complete u-turn. We started driving back to the parking lot.

"No, Sam, no no no no," I frantically shook his shoulder. "Let me out," I begged. "You don't even know what happened!" I yelled.

"So why don't you tell me?"

Shayne:

I stood there in the parking lot, completely stunned.

Was that Sam? One of my closest friends?

How could Olivia do this to me?

My thoughts were interrupted by a warm hand squeezing my shoulder.

"I saw what happened," Courtney smiled at me warmly. "I'm so sorry," she enveloped me in a hug. I was so upset and confused, I just hugged her back. And then I saw a car pulling up from behind her.

It was them.

I let go of Courtney immediately and brushed myself off. Olivia stepped out of the car, crying, as Sam stepped out of his side as well.

He walked with Olivia towards Courtney and I and then stood there, his arms crossed.

"What?" I looked between the two of them confused.

"Talk," Sam tapped his foot. "Tell Olivia how you really feel," he nodded at me expectantly.

"I-um-," I started, unsure of what to say.

"Because Olivia told me she really likes you," Sam interrupted. "But she's not sure if you like her or Cathy,"

"Courtney," Olivia corrected him.

"Whatever,"

Now all of them, even Courtney, were looking at me expectantly.

"What --? I don't - I -" I stuttered.

Olivia sighed. "That's what I thought," she started to walk away. "Let's go, Sam," she called.

"Olivia - wait!" I called after her. I grabbed her arm and turned her around to face me. "I know I've been really stupid, and that's why I don't deserve you. But - I really like you. Not Courtney. Not anyone else. You," I looked at her pleadingly. "I didn't kiss Courtney, Courtney kissed me. And I know I've been really stupid about it but-but I hope you can forgive me,"

Sam sighed and walked to his car. "I'm leaving," he called out behind him. Olivia looked behind her and then turned around and hugged me. I grunted, surprised that she hugged me, but my arms slowly wrapped around her.

"Thank you," I whispered.
