Shayne x Olivia (Smosh)

chapter 12

Shayne:

I wiped the sleep out of my eyes as I rolled out of bed to the sound of Courtney's alarm clock. Olivia was already changed into her swimsuit with a small coverup over it. I couldn't help but stare at her. She was beautiful and she had literally the perfect body.

I changed into my swim trunks and sunglasses and flip-flops and we all walked out the door. Today we were going to go swimming in the resort pool, do a belly flop competition, and then we would play truth or dare. 

We met Ian and the rest at the pool, already hanging out in the water. I got a running start and cannon-balled into the water, making a huge splash.

"All right! Everyone's here! We can finally shoot the belly flop competition," Ian laughed as he wiped water from his face from my splash.

"Olivia? Do you want to try to do one today?" Ian asked gently. Everyone knew Olivia couldn't swim, and every year she had passed on doing the belly flop portion of the competition. 

"Actually, yes. I want to do it this year," she put on a determined face and pumped her fist in the air. Everyone laughed.

"Are you sure?" Noah put his hand on her shoulder.

"You don't have to," Sohinki smiled kindly at her. Everyone considered Olivia as the baby of the group, so whenever she struggled with something it was like all of us were helping her and keeping an eye out for her.

"Oh, come on guys. I'm an adult. I'm pretty sure I can do it." She smiled reassuringly.

"Okay then! Let the games begin!" Ian clapped his hands together. We all shot the Smosh games intro and then got in line for the belly flops. Of course, Flitz's flop was the best and he got a perfect score of 30/30 for the third year in a row. And my pun got a 10/10, flop was 9/10, and style was 7/10. Our team was winning, and the only person left now to go was Olivia.

"Yeah! Go Olivia!" everyone, even if they weren't on our team, was clapping for her. Everyone knew this was her biggest fear and she had never participated before. I could see the fear in her eyes as she stepped up to the side, her legs trembling. For some reason, I didn't want her to be alone when she jumped in, so I quickly hopped in the water on the other side of the pool to catch her after she jumped.

She didn't make a pun or anything, she just stepped forward and fell flat on her stomach into the water, making a loud cracking sound.

"Oooooooh," Everyone winced at the sound. I swam up to her as she paddled desperately in the water, trying to stay afloat. She was trying to keep her mouth above the water, but she just kept on getting more water inside.

"Help," she gargled, as she started to panic.

"I got you," I held her like a baby and carried her out of the water. While the other people crowded around her, telling her it was okay, and that she did a great job.

She started to calm down as she sat by the side of the pool. I patted her back as she waited for her score.

"And Olivia... You get a perfect 30/30!" Everyone clapped and cheered for her.

"Yeah, cause my pun was just so amazing!" She laughed and everyone else did too.

While our team celebrated the win, she turned to me, placing her tiny hand on my large one, gave me a small smile, and said, "Thanks, Shayne,"

And right then I knew that this was the girl I wanted to be with.

later that evening

"Alright guys, now it's time for some Truth or Dare!!" We all yelled at the camera.

We all sat in a circle and went around asking truth or dare. Courtney got dared to jump in the pool with her clothes on, Sohinki had to tell everyone who his first kiss was, and Joven had to dance awkwardly for ten seconds in front of strangers. Finally it was my turn.

"Shayne, truth or dare?" Wes held the ipad with the tweets in his hands.

"Um, I'm gonna go with truth this time," 

"Oooh, the king of dares is going with a truth! Interesting..." he winked. "Okay, the question is, would you ever date anyone in the smosh quad?"

I looked at my feet, unsure of what to say.

"Yes," I mumbled.

"What?" Ian frowned.

"I said yes," I said a little louder.

"Oh my god, who?" Courtney nudged my shoulder.

"I'm not saying," I moved my shoulder away.

"Oh c'mon, Shayne. Please tell!" Noah playfully punched my chest.

"Yeah, Shayne!" Everyone started to crowd around me and ask me.

"Fine!" I pushed them all away. "Just stop! I would date Olivia, okay? I would date Olivia. Are you happy now?" 

I looked around at all of the shocked faces, including Olivia.

"Guys, stop the cameras," Ian gestured at the crew.

Everyone was uncomfortably trying not to look at me or Olivia. It was so silent you could hear a pin drop.

Oh god, what have I done? 

I pushed through everyone and started walking quickly to the hotel room. 

She's was my friend. And now I just ruined a friendship.
