"How could you do this to me mom dad?" Shouted a guy in horror and disbelief.
"Lower your voice young man." Said the older man in a stern yet calm tone.
"How can you expect me to talk calmly when you hid such a big truth from me." The guy again shouted in exasperation.
"Rannu beta humari baat toh suno." The lady tried to manofy him.
(I HATE the name 'rannu'😝😝)
"Kya sunu mai mom, ek din suddenly aap log aate ho aur mujhe bolte ho ki I am married and now I need to live with a complete stranger who is supposedly my wife since 20 years. Kya sunana chahti hai aap aur?" He clutched his head.
"Beta par yeh humare gaon ki rasam hai, shadi bachpan mei hi kar di jati hai aur phir bade hone ke baad 'gaona' hota hai." His mother explained.
"Toh ab toh hum gaon mei nhi hai na mom, ab iss shadi ko maanne ki kya zarurat hai?" He tried his luck.
"Acha aur uss bechari ka kya jo waha tumhara intezaar kar rhi hogi?" His father shouted.
"Maine thodi naa kaha hai usse mera intezaar karne ko." Randhir cringed.
"Enough is enough randhir, tumhari shadi ho chuki hai and that's final." His father dismissed.
"Acha aur agar woh ekdum dumb yaa weird si hui, phir? Phir bhi aap usse apni bahu maanenge?" He tried to manipulate harsh.
"Ab woh jaisi bhi ho, woh tumhari kismat." His father shrugged.
"But woh gaon ki ladki yaha Mumbai ke lifestyle se kaise cope karegi." He desperately searched for reasons.
"Tum kab kaam aoge? Tum sikhaoge usse yaha ke taur tareeke." His father ordered.
"Aapko pata hai naa child marriage ek crime hai, abhi jail bhej sakta hoon mai aapko." Randhir said childishly.
"Go ahead." His father handed him his phone.
Randhir threw the phone on the sofa and closed his eyes in annoyance.
"Mom please kehdo ki aap log mazak kar rhe ho." He pleaded.
"Bilkul nhi." His father intervened.
"Harsh, mujhe baat karne dijiye." His wife eyed him.
"Renuka tumne hi isse sar pe chadha rakha hai." Harsh pouted.
"Randhir beta tu idhar baith." Renuka sat with him on the sofa and he rested his head on her lap.
"Aap log kyu kar rhe ho aisa mere saath." He cribbed.
"Beta, trust us, hum tere parents hai, kabhi tera bura nhi chahenge. Abhi tujhe ajeeb lag rha hoga but dekhna yehi shadi teri life ka best decision saabit hogi." She caressed his hair.
"But main usko jaanta tak nhi arree mujhe toh uska naam tak nhi pata." He widened his eyes.
"Hmm... Toh yeh baat hai, waise toh hume bhi zyada kuch nhi pata uske baare mei, bas itna pata hai ki uska naam 'sanu' hai aur woh bhot pyaari hai." Renuka smiled.
"What? Aapko Kuch nhi pata uske baare mei? Toh meri shadi aise hi kisi random ladki se karwadi." He again shouted getting up.
"Arree beta woh random nhi hai woh toh teri bua ki nand ki beti ki saans ki behen ki bahu ki beti ki dost ki masi ki beti hai, samajh gya naa?" She asked innocently.
Randhir looked at her as if she has grown two heads but anyway nodded.
"But aapko toh uska full name bhi nhi pata yeh 'sanu' kaisa naam hai?" He pouted.
"Beta naam mei kya rakha hai, naam toh tu pata kar hi lega." Renuka prompted.
"Agar yeh sanu mujhse bilkul alag hui toh? Mai kaise rahunga?" He let out his worry.
"Tabhi toh tujhe bol rhe hai, abhi teri chhuttiya hai job ki, kuch din gaon ho aa, usse mil, jaan usse phir usse ghar leke aa." Renuka made his hair (like a champu, if I may add) and pulled his cheeks.
Randhir caressed his cheek pouting and made his hair again. He looked at his parents and found them looking back at him with expectation and hope. He couldn't get himself to deny them.
"Thik hai, milunga mai usse, par meri bhi ek shart hai." He looked at his parents with narrowed eyes.
"Haan haan sahabzade ab woh bhi bol hi dijiye." Harsh rolled his eyes.
"Usko pata nhi chalna chahiye ki main kon hoon, aap unhe kuch nhi bolenge as I assume ki jaise aapko uska poora naam nhi pata unhe bhi mera nhi pata hoga kyuki aap bhi mujhe bachpan se rannu bolte ho." He said while thinking and making a face at 'rannu'.
"Lekin aisa kyu beta?" Renuka asked confused.
"Agar usse pata hoga ki mai uska pati hoon toh woh waise behave karegi but agar mai ek stranger ki tarah jau toh woh apne real self mei rahegi." He smirked.
"Very smart lekin yeh socha hai bholuram ki unke ghar mei ghusoge kaise." Harsh mocked.
"Aap kab kaam aoge dad. Aap waha pe kisi known person ko phone karo aur saari arrangements karwao." He kinda ordered.
"Chalo shukr hai kuch Dino ke liye hi sahi par mere ghar mei shanti rahegi aur mujhe meri biwi ke saath thoda quality time milega." Harsh sighed with sitting beside renuka.
"Dad seedhe seedhe bolo naa ki you are just jealous of me kyuki mom mujhse zyada pyaar karti hai." Randhir teased.
"Jealous woh bhi tujhse? My foot. Waise bhi acha hi hai ab apni biwi ayegi toh meri biwi ka peecha toh chhodega." Harsh snorted.
"Dream on oldie kyuki Apni mom ko toh mai kabhi nhi chhodne wala." Randhir side hugged renuka.
"Renuka samjha do apne bete ko, tumhare handsome aur jawan pati ko oldie bol rha hai." He complained childishly.
"Acha ab bas karo tum dono, bachho ki tarah ladne baith jate ho. Harsh aapko office nhi jaana kya aaj? Chalo tayaar ho aur randhir tu aaj hi nikal rha hai MOTIHARI ke liye toh bags pack karle." Renuka dismissed them and went away to the kitchen and harsh went to their room.
Randhir sat there for a while contemplating today's events, now even he was curious as well as nervous to meet his 'wife'.
"So I am coming miss.. Oops sorry Mrs. Sanu." He smiled lightly.
