Ochre laid on top of the couch, curled in a blanketed ball.
It was still eight in the morning and she hadn't gotten any sleep for the past hour. She didn't even dare to get up from where she was laying.
She was in...
Mayor Katarina's Mansion.
The Ruler of Artopia.
Holy chestnuts, how did she ever get into this situation...?
She would normally be at work at this time.
Now that she thought about it, she was beyond late to work at the cafe.
She bet that if she went back tomorrow, she would've probably been fired for the many times she had been late from the past days.
Ochre sighed to will away the tears from her eyes.
Everything has been a constant blur and she didn't know what to think or do.
Her brother, Rouge, who was studying abroad at the other side of Artopia, wouldn't be any help.
He was too busy in his studies to actually worry about her. It may be no wonder that he said, before he left, that he trusted her to take care of herself without him.
Ochre knew half of the reason why he didn't care about her that much. Mostly because she doesn't tell him all her problems.
So she may be guilty as charged.
However, she thought that even if she did tell him all that she had been through, he wouldn't care less. He had always been the one who only cared about knowledge than love.
But no matter how blind he was, she at least called him to check on him. Seeing if he was eating, taking care of himself, how his studies were going...
He didn't even seem to care that she wasn't even calling from her phone from yesterday.
Ochre was used to his ways. She may have to one day confront him.
But at this moment, there is no time to think about her long-term problems. Right now, she needed to worry about what she is gonna do in this place.
Ochre sat up to look around her surroundings.
The living room was very spacious, considering that this place was a mansion than a house. It had a couple of couches and sofas that were facing towards the large TV. The cushions weren't filled with more pillows and the only other features was the Virtual Podium that was next to the TV big coffee table that separates the couches and TV.
It was as if that this place was fairly new. It was neat, tidy and clean. Not a lot of clutter.
Beside the living room was the wall that had a doorway-shaped hole. The hole led to a large kitchen and a small dining room that were combined.
She was hungry at the sight of the large pantry closet.
But Ochre dared not to get up from where she was sitting. It was very rude to wander around someone's abode.
Especially when it is the leader of Artopia's mansion.
God, was she very hungry. When was the last time she ate? She couldn't think that straight.
She rubbed her eyes as she snuggled against the couch cushions and the soft blanket. She still has a few hours to snooze. She shouldn't think so much. Mayor Katarina did insisted on her to stay for the day.
Such a kind offer...
Ochre closed her eyes and laid there in silence until she drifted off to sleep.
