When dawn approached, the two lovers were still cuddled up together under the blankets, enjoying a late morning sleep in. Frisk was the first to rise, blinking quickly to avoid the harsh light that shone through the sliver in the curtain, which just happened to have landed right on her face. She groaned and rolled over, stretching quietly, before she felt a pair of arms close over her waist. Smiling, she chuckled softly before snuggling into the warm embrace, making her lover- no, her husband- shift behind her, trying to find a more comfortable position.
"Sans, it's time to wake up," Frisk cooed softly.
Groaning, he pulled her closer in his arms, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck, his breath ghosting over her skin, leaving behind goosebumps in its wake, "Five more minutes, babe."
Shivering slightly, she tried once more to escape the arms clenched tightly around her middle, "Come on, Sans. You promised we'd go check out that new cafe down the street."
"Nooooo," he groaned again, locking his arms tighter and rolling them so she was now lying across his chest, "The cafe will still be there in a few hours, baby. Let's sleep a bit longer? I'm not quite ready to share my wife with the world just yet."
She pouted petulantly, but his last words melted her resolve and left warmth to bubble up in her chest. Sighing softly, she snuggled her head against his clavicle before closing her eyes, a pleased hum passing her lips, "Alright, but only for a little bit okay?"
A sleepy hum was his response before the two fell back into a peaceful sleep.
Well that is until a blaringly loud ringtone cut through the silence a few hours later. Jumping a good foot in the air, much to her lover's chagrin, Frisk scrambled to the edge of the bed and frantically searched for the obnoxious device. With an irritated grunt, she fumbled around on her nightstand trying to silence the stupid music, knocking over little knickknacks to the floor in her haste. Grabbing the phone, she answered angrily, but when she heard the voice of her goat mom she immediately regretted her less than pleasant tone and promptly apologized for her rude behavior.
While her mother began to lecture her on her manners, she sat up in bed and looked down at her groggy husband, reveling in the sleepy grin he gave and the way he reached up to brush back a few stray strands of hair. His fingers lingered against her cheek, stroking the skin softly as he gazed up at her reverently. Giving him a brilliant smile, she brought his hand to her lips, placing a featherlight kiss to his bones before hoisting herself out of bed.
Giving him a small smile, she headed into the bathroom to get ready for the day, all the while still listening to her mother talk about current events going on underground.
She gave little answers every now and then, listening politely as her mother fussed and worried over her lodgings and career. It was an unnecessary worry as she had Sans to protect her, but she would indulge her mother and allow her to fuss since it was only out of concern. Her mother carried on for a few minutes about the political affairs of Ebbott City, but had eventually fallen silent."Mom? Are you alright?" Frisk asked, clutching the phone to her shoulder as she gathered her bathing supplies, after all she was left rather sweaty after last night's activities, and as much as she had enjoyed their bonding she certainly did not enjoy feeling sticky.
"Oh, I'm sorry, dear. I lost my train of thought. Although, I do hope you are being safe. The city is fairly dangerous.." she growled softly, the sound far more concerned than angry.
"Yes, mama. I'm perfectly fine. Sans takes good care of me," she smiled softly, glancing back at her now rising skeleton.
"He had better be," her mother chided, "after all, he's the bonehead you picked to date."
