Now, things are better, I guess.
I aced every single end of term examinations, which allowed me to be promoted to year 2.
And another important thing is about to take place.
Only thing is that,
college is different from grade school and high school.
We only get 30 days of summer vacations.
Oh, come on..
But nonetheless, carpe diem.
Seize everyday you got.
But,
just like I mentioned, college is different from high school and grade school.
We get a ton load of homework, which in fact took up about one-fifth of the boot of the car.
''So, ready?'' Isabella slammed down the boot of the car and looked at me.
''Why does it seem like you're going to leave me forever?''
''What? I only closed the boot, asked you a question, and waited for your answer. What's wrong with that? Unless you don't want to take my car..'' she smirked and raced for the driver's seat.
''Oh, you think so?'' I beat her to the passenger seat before she started her car.
''Mmmm... not bad.. quite fast!''
Now its my turn to smirk at her.
''Alright, we've got a 2 hour drive ahead of us, let's hit the road, before the rain starts pouring down.'' she gestured to the dark clouds brewing in the distance.
---
The ride back to Danville was a pretty smooth one, only occasionally a few drops of rain falling from the sky.
''And.. here.. we.. are!'' she stopped the car in front of my house.
''Well, I'll see you later for the party?''
''Mhm.. and maybe get your stuff down here?''
''Right.'' Taking my stuff from the boot and the backseat. I lunged my way to the front door, as Isabella turned into her driveway.
Turning the key in the lock that I have not touched in a year, all the memories of me spending the last few summers with my friends seem to flood me.
As if it was deja vu.
''Hello, brother. It's been a long day'' Ferb was seated on the couch, holding onto a magazine.
''Hey, sup''
''Where's Gretchen?''
''She'll arrive later. She needs to send the fireside girls back to their own houses first.''
''Of course.''
''Why? You haven't seen her in a year and you already miss her?''
''Yep. I only get to see her in the phone, yet I can't touch her. What a pity...''
I smiled and threw my stuff into my bedroom. Everything was untouched, except the fact that a layer of dust has found its home on some of my blueprints stacked neatly on the table.
Throwing my stuff in the corner, I let the memories of the past flood me, as I ran my fingers through the texture of the room, the time when we were sick and we played video games in the room, the amount of fun we had discussing about our school projects. The sound of laughter seemed very ominous to my ear, as if all of this had taken place just yesterday.
