Chapter Twenty-Five: Friends

TODOROKI SHŌTO POV

     I was feeling some type of way after the fight, I can't explain, I just feel different. I don't know, I just don't feel the same, like some part of me that has been closed off for decades has finally shown itself. I feel more in control, I guess. I was on my way back to the waiting area when I ran into him.

"Shōto, good job." He said.

"Thanks dad." I muttered. This is exactly why I didn't wanna use my power, but I lost control when I was fighting that kid.

"Now, do that every time you fight and you'll be golden! Number one hero in no time!"

"..."

"Believe it or not, you're just like me."

Something in me snapped, "No! I am nothing like you. Nothing! You are cruel and mean and and you sent mom away and and-"

"That's enough Shōto!" He screamed.

"No it's not! Realize what you are doing, realize the hell you put me through, put mom through, put us all through! Don't act so high and mighty around me, I know exactly who you are."

"Yo-"

"Save it, I don't need your petty excuses." I gave him a cold look and continued walking to my destination and shoved him along the way. Well tried to, he's just so god damn tall!

     I walked into the waiting room and sat down. I grabbed my hair in frustration and let the mask fade away. I can't do this for much longer, I don't even know if I wanna be hero! I don't know! I just don't know!

"Todoroki-Kun..?" I heard a soft voice say. I looked up and saw a really banged up Midoriya. He slowly approached the table and sat across from me. He had casts on his hands and bruises all over his face.

"I really did a number on you."

I heard a low chuckle escape his lips "Well I told you to."

"True, so it's all your fault."

"Well, not fully. You gotta take some responsibility! I can't give myself third-degree burns AND frostbite."

     I looked up at him and met his eyes, his twinkling green eyes and just laughed. And started crying immediately after.

"Todoroki-Kun!" He said with concern.

     My vision got blurry and I felt a reassuring pat on my back.

"Heh sorry, I still have the casts on."

"Thank you." I said almost immediately.

"For what?" He said with the same head tilt.

"Being my friend..." I said quietly.

"And you were so unsure about our friendship in the beginning."

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize. I'm here no matter what."

"Next battle in thirty seconds!" Someone announced.
