Ida's P.O.V"So you coming or not?" Tommy asked. We're in class, we didn't have much work to do since we had a substitute for today.
I groaned knowing I have a slim chance of going. It's a party hosted by this kid I barley know but apparently everyone is going because the kid hosts the best parties.
Tommy looks at me waiting for an answer. I know my parents aren't going to let me go because one I don't know the kid and two it's a school night and I'm not allowed to go to any parties when there's school the next day.
Not to mention I'm rarely ever allowed to go to parties unless it's a family party.
"I don't know Tommy, you know how my parents are..." She sighs dispirited. Turning back around I face front. She's not the only one I disappointed.
All my other friends are going, I seem to be the only person who's not going. Matter of fact I'm the only senior who's not going.
I start to fidget with my pencil. I do this when I'm anxious. So the whole period I just sit there in my own world while Tommy and everyone else in class chatter about how lit this party is going to be.
Finally the bell rings I'm the first one ready to leave the class since everyone is too busy talking about the party.
Just as I step out the class I feel someone grab my elbow. My head snaps to the person ready to cuss them out but I realize it's only Tommy.
"Before you leave I just wanted to let you know that I made sure to save you a spot when me and Abby go to pick everyone up so if you do decide to change your mind we'll be your ride" Tommy smiles.
Disconsolated I look down. Tommy notices my lack of enthusiasm and pulls me into a hug. "Hey don't be sad...if you want I won't go, we could just hang out together" She smiles.
No way, I can't do that to her. This is the party everyone's talking about. She can't miss this.
"I'm fine Tommy. You go have fun, it'll only make me feel bad knowing I'm the reason you missed out"
She tried declining but I wouldn't let her. "Seriously Tommy I'm good, and I wanna hear all about it tomorrow. You always got the tea" She laughed.
"Yup, you already know" A damn mess. I shook my head letting out an obnoxious laugh that had a few students in the hall turn their heads.
God I hate that I laugh so loud.
After school I walked straight home considering I didn't have to tutor Keith since he was helping to set up the party.
When I got home I went straight to my room. Debating on weither or not I should ask my parents.
Maybe they'll let me...it doesn't hurt to try right?
I start to feel tensed as I walk up to their door. I blow a breath before knocking a few times.
"Come in" I hear my mom say. Slowly I turn the knob then enter the room.
"What's up?" Ma asks as my other mom helps to zip up her dress. Are they going somewhere?
Anyways I get straight to the point. "Ok I know y'all said no parties during school nights but this is a once in a life time thing and every senior is attending this party even Tommy is allowed to go and I don't want to miss this. I can't miss this it'll be like missing prom so I'm begging you please, please, please can I go?" I said all in one breath.
They both just stared at me, I was probably sweating by now. "Ida.." Oh no she's about to reject, I can feel it.
"Rihanna" My mom says they do this thing where they communicate with their eyes then turn back to me.
