(Medina)

Zisel's P.O.V

"Fenty come here!" Coach yelled blowing his whistle. With a sigh I ran off the field to approach him.

He stood hands to hips visibly upset. I struggled to maintain eye contact as he spoke. "Look, I'm going to be brutally honest with you Fenty. You need to get it together I've never seen you play this bad in my life. This may just be practice but it reflects how you'll be playing when it's game time. Why are you so distracted, what's distracting you?" He asked his tone still ear-piercing.

"I'm sorry coach, I'll try to stay more focused next time. I just have a lot on my mind" Was all I could come up with. I could feel his eyes on my as I stared down at my feet.

"Whatever it is just don't bring it to the actual game" I shook my head vigorously finally looking up at his serious expression which soon disappears with a faint smile.

Placing a hand on my shoulder he whispers "Now go back in there and show them how it's done" With a large grin baring my teeth I run back to the field determined to stay focused.

After practice everyone was getting ready to leave as I sat on the bleachers texting Isaiah while waiting for my mother to come pick me up.

Ever since the incident I haven't been able to walk alone. Even though I know those girls have faced their consequences I still fear walking near that area.

"Hey Zisel?!" Medina called out waving for me to come over to where she was standing with two other girls, Nefertiti and Hanna.

"Hey" I say once I approach them. Instantly I catch Nefertiti smirk and Hanna giggle turning her head so it's not so obvious.

"I'm having a sleepover this Friday and thought I'd invite you. So far Dinah, Sammie, and these two clowns are going" She said causing both girls to stop giggling and turn back to Medina.

Medina completely ignores them as she continues to speak. "I mean you don't have to but...just thought I should invite you"

I've never been invited to a sleepover over before, what do they even do?

"I mean, yeah, sure why not" I shrug. Medina smiles handing me her phone.

I raise a brow confused on what to do with it. "Your number, so I can text my address" She says with a quickness.

I smirk putting in my phone number. Than placing it back in her hands, not before getting shocked from her touch.

"I hate when that happens" She laughs putting her phone in her pocket and pulling a string of hair behind her ear.

I restrain myself from telling a corny joke and just nod in agreement. "Same"

She giggles "Alright so I'll see you Friday?" She asks looking me in the eyes. "You got it!" I reply but within seconds mentally cussing myself out for sounding stupid.

YoU goT It. I mock rolling my eyes. She giggles again "Bye then" Unexpectedly she embraces me in a hug.

I hug her back keeping in notice in how short she is compared to me. Her head layed no where near pass my shoulders.

Inhaling in her sweet scent of Jasmine which consisted of orange blossom with notes of vanilla, mandarin, and Mirabelle plum. I almost didn't want to let go but the beeping of a car brought me back to reality.

"How was practice?" My mother asked once I got settled in. "It was good, I guess"

She turns to me for a quick second before eyeing the road. "Did something happen Zisel?" She says in a more serious tone.

"What? No I said it was good...I got invited to a sleepover" I said a little over a whisper.

"A sleepover?" She chuckles. "When has that ever been your thing, you plan on going?" I roll my eyes.

Yeah I'm not one to attend sleepovers because I always thought it was one of those girly things where you stay up all night doing your nails, talking about boys and all that other bull crap.

But I'm willing to go, I can't possibly say no to Medina...

"What's so funny?" I ask a little offended. "Oh nothing" My mother replies with a smirk. "But hey if you want to go that's fine with me. It's about time you made some female friends" She mumbled the last part but I heard it clear as day.

With a sigh I took out my phone. Coincidentally it dinged right when I unlocked it, it was a text from Medina.
