SHORT SUMMARY.
It was hard to figure out how this had happened to her. One moment she was spending her nights beside her boyfriend and her best friend, the next she was seated on the outside like she was the wrongdoer like she was the one that had done the cheating and wasn't cheated on.
Blaming herself for the domino effect of failures that had become her life, Leona didn't think she deserved such a good guy that was tripping over themselves to be at her side.
Neither did she think she deserved the unconditional love that Jared gave her.
PLOT.
Leona James wasn't exactly the popular type, but she was pretty and nice - and pretty and nice meant a lot in the halls of Forks High School. Pretty and nice is what caught the eye of one Mike Newton and best friend Jessica Stanley.
Pretty and nice is what got her a reputation for shy and meek, the kind of girl that got cheated on by one Mike Newton and Jessica Stanley wherein they make her think it was her fault.
Because it must have been, right? How could Leona not see the way they felt about each other and let them be free to be together.
Leona comes to believe she's a bad person. The kind of bad that deserved getting slowly shunned by her friends until she couldn't stand to be near anyone unless she hurt them like she had done Jess and Mike.
When sad girl Bella persuades her to hang out a bit and Leona subsequently meets Jared Cameron, it'll take a bit more than a few sweet words to get her over her self-deprivation
EXTRAS.
- I came up with this plot when I just came off of a night shift so if it sucks a bit in some places you are more than welcome to change it.
- Leona has to think that everything is her fault. It's like the whole point of the story and why she is hesitant to be with Jared because she feels like she'll just ruin things with him like she did with Mike and Jessica.
- This story is not meant to bash Jessica and Mike in any way. The cheating and their actions afterwards are just a terrible situation that came up on Leona's part - like view it as Mike was intending to break up with Leona but didn't get the chance before she was him with Jess (like this doesn't make it any better but it also doesn't make them horrible people at the same time. . . does that make sense? I hope so).
- Jared is like a happy puppy that just wants Leona's attention and is like this happy puddle when she manages a few words to him.
- Both Bella and Leona think they don't deserve each other's friendship. While Leona is hesitant and always willing to do wtv to make Bella happy, Bella is like clingy and wants to get as much time with Leona as she can.
