Girl sighed then made herself comfortable.

"I am what's known as a healer. As it says in the name I heal people through different herbs and potions. When the Queen got sick I was asked to come and see what was wrong."

"And why were you asked and not a giant healer?" Nathaniel asked skeptically.

She rolled her eyes, "Because I had a 100% success rate."

"Had?"

"The Queen died under my care. She was the only one to not heal and that's because I was refused the freedom to get the right herbs."

"Why were you refused?"

"The King thought that I would run away. He thought in his twisted mind that if I left to got get the correct herbs from the Middle Grounds that I would never come back even though I swore to never give up on the Queen. Men are so infuriating at times, I swear."

"Didn't you try reasoning with him?"

"When I did that I ended up in a cage, stripped of everything I owned except my healer's devices and a dress."

"And that's why you're called Girl, isn't it?"

"Yep," She said popping the 'p'.

"What was your name before?"

Her eyes gleamed with mischief, "Take a guess."

"I'm not here to play games," he said sternly.

"Life is a game," she said dramatically, "We play with Fate and toy with Death all the time. I'll give you a clue, it begins with D."

Nathaniel raised his eyebrow then sighed. This was stupid, but something about her interested him. "Delilah?"

"No."

"Daisy?"

"Nu-uh."

"Darcy?"

"Wrong again!"

"Devil women?"

She laughed at that one, "Good one, but no."

He huffed "I give up."

"Then you lose," she said, "And I win!"

"Fine you win, now what's your name?"

"As of right now it's Girl," she smirked. She looked at the horizon ans gave a sad smile. "Well this has been fun, but I have to go."

"What? Why?"

"I have a bed to sleep in, a family to take care of, herbs to mix and a hitman to hide from. This has been lovely, and if you follow that path it leads to a giant village. See you around!"

With that she sped off into the woods, leaving Nathaniel, once again, completely dumbfounded.

He looked at the path that Girl pointed out and sighed. He shrugged his shoulders and stood up, trying his best to keep an open mind about all of this. He stepped out of the pavilion and followed the path. He was surprised to find that she actually told the truth when he saw the giant village in the distance.

"What have I gotten myself into?" he mumbled to himself and continued on his way.

This was going to be one of the weirdest jobs ever.
