Chapter 16

I woke up from a nightmare. My dream consisted of me falling from a tree branch (I don't know how I got there in the first place) and landing into to grass, but I continued falling deeper into the earth. While I was falling I had my friends trying to help up and my family but I couldn't get up. I saw Shadow too but he was just looking at me in pity. Sonic was there too but he was ignoring me. At the center of it, I was surrounded by large flames. I woke up sweating, I didn't know the meaning of this dream.

I went outside into my backyard and decided to practice shooting. I had some extra paints can lying so I decided to aim at them from a short distance. The first one, didn't go so well. The next few where going alright, considering there was paint all over the grass.

I went inside and checked my phone. My phone has never been so full of messages and calls before.

I opened the most important one. Shadow had text messaged me.

What the?? I need to talk to you ASAP

About what? My life choices that were made without his opinion.

My friends were the ones who worried me the most. I decided not the confront them till I got home. I continued to check the messages and they were all buyers trying to buy a few grams.

There was one buyer who seemed very intriguing to me though. He was trying to buy everything. The whole bag. It was some good money. I wasn't doing it for the money though, I had more then enough.

Care to meet me soon? - the mysterious person said.  The only thing that had scared me the most was that I didn't know who this person was.

Sure, meet me behind the bowling place at 10.

I wasn't really prepared for my first deal. I didn't know what to expect. My hands on the steering wheel were saturated with sweat. I kept an eye out for cops, I didn't wanna get caught with this amount of drugs on me.

I arrived at my destination. I waited a good 15 minutes till a black car showed up. The windows were tinted so dark that I couldn't see who inside. The window slowly went down for a little and a finger came out to show me to come to them. I grabbed my backpack. And walked towards the car. They had made sure to park a good walking distance from me.

I reached the car and I gave them the bag. The dude looked my age. College maybe. I tried looking inside the car and I saw a female next to him. She had a line of coke rolled out in front of her. They didn't look like heavy drug users though. On the other hand, they looked wealthy. He gave me another bag and I checked it. I was full of money. Dirty money. I wonder if it had ever gone through the hands of a murderer.

I didn't question it. The guy took out his hands to shake my hand.

"Nice doing business with you, what's your name? He said in a raspy voice, as if he has smoked a lot of cigarettes.

Didn't he messaged me from snap, pretty sure he knows my name.

"Rose" I said abruptly.

He nodded as he pulled his window up. Wow. It wasn't that hard. I was expecting more to it.

I was walking back towards my car when I heard a cars door open. I turned around and surely I saw 3 hooded figures coming out of the same car I had just left from.

Fuck. Had they set me up? What am I supposed to do now?

I ran as fast as I could to my car. I could hear footsteps right behind me. My eyes teared up really quick. Please let me outta this one god, I'm gonna get out of this son.

They tackled me down. There was two guys and a girl pinning me down. She had put her hand over my mouth to make sure I didn't scream. I couldn't quite see their face bc they were covered.

"What is a pretty girl like you doing out there at such hour, isn't it past your bed time?" She said as she flicked out a pocketknife. I was decorated with rhinestones.

I recognized those eyes and that voice. Mina?! I wasn't sure, but as soon as she moved around to get the knife close to my throat, I saw a glade of her purple hair. It was her for sure.

She looked up as if she was thinking.

"You know I don't think you had the guts to do this, I guess I was wrong"

It was crazy how much of a game she thought this was, fiddling with my life around her fingers like it was nothing.

"Know to think about it, I don't think your gonna me such a hard prey to kill" she said laughing .

My eyes widen with realization when it remembered Mina wasn't knew in this business. She wouldn't kill me would she?

"I'm joking with you Rose" she smiled. She got really close to my ear,

"Let's just make sure you know I'm not the one to mess with, don't take away my customers"
She whispered.

She grabbed her knife and placed it really close to my belly. She lifted up my shirt and smiled at me.

I tried moving but the guys were holding me down really good. Mina slowly slashed me. I was screaming really loud , but they were muffled by the two unknown males. I looked at my stomach and I saw blood coming out. I was crying. They left the area soon and left me on the floor. Fuck shit motherfucker this shit hurts so much .

I got up and winced at the pain. There was so much everywhere. I wasn't gonna go to the hospital thought, they were gonna make me report who it was. I didn't wanna give myself out so soon.

I called Shadow. I had missed him and even though he hasn't apologized yet, I didn't know where else to go.

I didn't tell him I was hurt though. I just called him to say he was going to sneak me into this room. He dryly responded okay to that. He was really mad. I could tell.

On my way over there I had a hand over my cut. I was replaying what just happened. If it was Mina who was under that anonymous mask, then it would explain how familiar the girl from the passenger seat looked like. It was probably Sally.

I got to Shadows house and I looked at the time. It was 11, hopefully his parents were asleep. He was waiting for me outside.

I approached his door and he kept staring at me. He looked down at my hand holding my stomach, my sweater was stained by blood.

"Really Amy" Shadow said in annoyance.

He took me into his room carefully, making sure he didn't hurt me more and making sure he didn't wake up his parents.

"Care to explain" Shadow said examining the area.

"It's a long story" I said wincing when Shadow put a cloth dipped in alcohol into my cut.

"If this were a normal life, I think it would've been me in your place, not vice versa" he said pressing harder.

"Now go on and tell me what happened before I lose my patience with you" Shadow said.
