Chapter Thirteen

PART THREE

We were all sitting around our big dining table.

Going around the table, starting with my side, we have daddy at the head, George, Kiara, Rebecca, me, Kat, Daniel and Kathryn, then mom at the other end of the table. Starting from mom is Camilla, Liam, Colton, Houston, Harley, Peter and Blake then it's back to my dad.

Colton tried to sit across from me, so I let him choose his seat, then I quickly switched with Kat. So now I sat across from Houston and she sat across from Colton, but I still wouldnt say it was a good place to sit because now Im sitting next to Rebecca. Ugh!

Kats phone buzzed and she looked at it,

"Who is it?" I ask,

"Alaric. He said he texted you but you never responded,"

"Oh," I peak at my phone. I did have one text from him. I open it and respond, "did you tell him yes or no?"

"I told him hell yeah," she giggled and I smiled,

"Me too. Its going to be so much fun!"

"Well, it's nice to have the whole family here together," my mom spoke up, halting me and Kats conversation, "that includes the Lawrence's, Houston, Rebecca and Colton!" She smiled at the six of them, "we all know it's tradition to go around the table to say what we are thankful for; so, we will start with you Eli, darling, then George and we will make our way around the table."

My dad stopped chewing, "I'm thankful for my family and how big it has grown!"

"I'm thankful that we got another wonderful year!" George cut in,

Everyone did their turn and they were really good. Mostly about family and being together.

"Aurora, your turn," Kat nudged me in the arm,

"Oh, uh!" I looked around the table, skipping over Colton's eyes, "I'm also thankful for my family and for finally being done with school." The table laughed.

Then it continued around the table until everyone was finished.

"So, Colton what's new in your life?" Daniel asked.

"Nothing much, Mr. Lawrence." He said, "just trying to get used to the famous life!"

"Oh? You dont like it?" Kathryn added,

"Eh, being a professional football player has its perks but it is also quite overwhelming." I heard his voice, but I never looked at him, "the blinding lights from all the cameras, the lies paparazzies tell and the worst is you get no privacy."

"But you get an unlimited source of girls, right?" Blake asked,

He laughed, "yeah I do but I'd rather wait for the right girl than mess with all the wrong ones,"

For some odd reason I felt the entire table look at me as I put a spoonful of mashed potatoes in my mouth but instead of entertaining them I continue eating like I didn't hear anything.

"Tell them what position you play boy and stop stalling!" My dad barked making everyone turn their attention back to Colton, "ah to the hell with it! He's the Quarterback. I mean the kids got an arm!"

The whole tabled laughed but I didn't. I looked down at my phone to see a text from April. The past few years me and April kept in close contact because we both are going to be applying to the same Medical School. I still talk to Bella as well, she went into the Wedding planner career and she does a great job at it. We started texting back a forth when I felt a kick under the table, I look up to see Houston watching me,
