As we settled on the plane, Rachel came by and informed us that it would be a 2 hour flight and asked if we wanted something to drink. We asked her for two glasses of wine and some Cheetos. She set up the table between us and went to sit in the front.

"Have you picked out a name for the baby yet?" I asked Kat,

She continued to look through her Instagram, completely ignoring me, "Rory look at this bitch!"

She turned her phone my way, on the screen there was a girl with brunette hair that went past her shoulders. She had her arms wrapped around a guy and had her hand out, showcasing a rather large diamond ring, "Is that the girl who's the know it all in your class?"

"Yeah, and she managed to get engaged before me... and with a British doctor," she looked defeated,

I laughed, "Hey, you know that you are British too right or did you forget that?"

"No, trust me, I haven't forgotten but I'm 21, Rory, why aren't I engaged yet?"

I burst out laughing, "you're still young Kat, you have plenty of time left. Besides do you honestly want to be tied down so early?"

"Hmm, maybe you're right," She stared at her phone, "so what's Harley been up to?"

I knew what she was getting at, I smile, "Uh, for the past week he has been trying to break this mustang he bought. Its been quite challenging for him actually,"

"Is he seeing anyone?" she rested her elbow on her knee and her face in her hand, putting her phone on the table,

"Actually no, he and Rebecca broke it off a month ago," I looked at my phone, "so he has been focusing on his ranch and the horses."

"Oh. Huh. Okay." I smile at her thoughtful look,

"But back to my question, have you picked a name out?"

"Yeah," she smiled at me, "Daniel Jr."

"Perfect." I lean back in my chair,

"Yeah I thought so too, I was named after our mom, so I thought it be perfect for him to be named after our dad."

"That's beautiful Kat," I glance out the window,

I couldnt wait to see my family. Thanksgiving with the family is the second holiday I look forward to, with Christmas being the first.

Spending the day with my family is the best thing about Thanksgiving for me. Well kind of. You see, during the last 7 years with my family for Thanksgiving, I would leave at 1 pm to spend the rest of the day with Kat, then I'd head back at 10 pm. The reason behind that is because of my ex-best friend who decides they want to crash MY family get together every year, but this year should be different because two days ago Harley told me he won't be coming this year, that he will be in Tennessee with his own family.

"Why don't you just talk to him?"

I turn my attention from the plush, white clouds to Kat, who is sitting across from me, "huh?"

"Colton. Why don't you just talk to him?"

"Why don't you just talk to Harley?" I mimic her words,

"Oh! You bet your ass I will, as soon as I see him," she took a sip of her wine, "but seriously, when are you going to talk to him?"

What the hell? "I don't know what you're talking about." I exhaled and looked back out the window,

"You were just thinking about him and you can't say you weren't, I'm sitting right here watching you." She tilts her head to the side, "when you think about him, you get that look on your face. Why do you put yourself through this?"

I do get sad when I think about him, that's probably the look people keep saying I have. I mean he was my best friend and I miss him but it's not that easy to talk to him. He broke me, shattered my heart and he ruined me but the worst thing of it all is that he doesn't even know that he did it.

I wipe away a tear that escaped, and shook my head at Kat, "I'm not putting myself through anything."

I put my earphones in my ear and opened the pandora app, completely ending the conversation with Kat but not with my brain; since it decided to take me down memory lane.
