Chapter Thirty Two

PART TWO

April dropped me and the dogs off at Kat's house. Kat and Alaric beat us to the house because April was letting the puppies enjoy the air that came from windows being down and the fact that we had to buy dog supplies for them. I only grabbed the essentials since I'll be buying the rest of their stuff back in Florida.

Leo jumped out and I put Molly down next to him. I grabbed my three bags and headed for the front door, Leo followed me and Molly followed him.

I opened the door and started up the stairs. There were a few people here and there fixing up the place for the party tonight. I checked behind me to see if Molly needed help but I was shocked when I saw Leo pick her up and begin the trip upstairs. I giggled a little when he walked right past me on the stairs, like he knew where to go.

I shake my head and lead them into a small separate room. It was spacious and they had enough room to play. The cool part of this room is that it is connected to Kat's and my room by a little tunnel that runs along the back.

I set their things up. I scattered the toys on the floor, I put water in one water bowl and food in another. I laid two blankets out and a large doggie bed because I know they would most likely share a bed anyway.

Before I leave the room I turn to Leo, "Leo sit."

I command and he sits, so I give him a treat.

I turn to Molly, "Molly sit."

She ignores me and continues to play, so I try again,

"Molly, I said sit."

She looks back at me then continues to jump on her toy.

I look at Leo, "a little help please."

To my surprise, Leo makes a sound within his chest and Molly stops what she is doing and trots over to him. He nips her on her side then looks at me.

Woah.

I look down at a curious Molly, "Molly sit."

This time I hold the treat out so she can see what she was getting. She sat immediately and I gave her the treat, also slipping Leo another one.

I rub both their heads and tell them I'll check on them later.

I jog downstairs and into the kitchen.

Alaric was mixing the drinks and Kat was making a few snack plates with the help of her maids.

"What kind of drinks are you making?" I put my hand on Alaric's shoulder,

"We have fruit punch with Bacardi in this bowl, flat sprite wit vodka in this bowl with ice and for a real good time we have coke and rum. But if someone wants to jus get blacked out drunk tonight, Mike is doing three shots of Bacardi, two shots of vodka and one shot of rum for 10 dollars."

"Damn are you trying to kill everyone?" I laugh and move over to Kat, "What can I do to help?"

I observe the array of snacks she has set up. Two bowls of Lays chips, a bowl of m&m's, a bowl of pretzels and a bowl of Doritos.

"Hmmm, everything is actually already done," she turned in a circle overlooking her house' progress, "Margo and Tucker will be on stand by in case we run out of food or gawd fordbids something breaks. But do you know what you can help me with?"

She smiles at me and it makes me smile back, "what?"

"You can help me get dressed for this party," she checked our surroundings first before looking down at her stomach. No one knew she was pregnant, not even Alaric and he's our best friend, "I think I'm getting a little bump now."

She frowned, I grabbed her hand, "come on, let's check it out in the safety of my room."

We head up the stairs and into my room.

"How are the puppies doing?" She asks as she pulls her shirt off,

"They are in the room that's in between ours." I smile as I walk over to my closet, "you can let them out if you want, I closed my room door so they won't be able to run out."

She skipped over to the door that held the mini hallway in between our rooms and right in the middle of the wall is a smaller door. She opened it and out came running Molly. She zoomed into my room and tried to jump on the ottoman that was in front of my bed but her two front feet betrayed her and she went head first into the chair. Me and Kat burst out laughing at the little jokester.

Molly got up, shook her head and started sniffing around. I quickly understood what she was trying to do.

"No, no, no, no, no," I scoop her up and run past Kat back into the closet, "no, no, no, no, no,"

I sat her on the puppy pee pad right on time and let out a victorious fist pump. The whole time while this was happening, Leo was asleep on the doggy bed. This dog must be able to sleep through anything or this is the first time he has had a good nights sleep, sleeping on something comfortable.

I leave them in there but keep the door open so they can come into the room whenever they want.

Kat is standing in front of a mirror when I can back in. Her belly was a bit big for six weeks pregnant.

"Do you think this is normal?" She turned to the side, "to be this big so fast?"

"Maybe your having a big baby," I shrug and went to the closet, "do you want something that can cover you up?"

"Yeah but it still has to be cute." She grabbed her boobs, "damn they have gotten so big!"

"Ha, maybe your having multiples." I laugh making a joke. Kat didn't respond, so I turn to look at her, she was staring at her reflection.

"I was a twin Rory." She tilted her head, "what if I am having twins?"

I gasped, "or maybe triplets!"

"Stop playing!" She smiled a bit, "I would actually be okay with twins!"

I toss her my off the shoulder black shirt, "here, this will cover your stomach and it's still cute."

She slid it over her head and ran into her room through the adjoining door, "I'll be right back!"

I search through my closet to find a cute maroon dress. Which I will pair with thigh high black boots and black Spanx. I pulled my hair up into a high ponytail and took a few strands to hang out of the sides. Slipping a necklace on that hung down my chest and diamond earrings.

I stare at my reflection and thoughts of Colton came flowing through my mind. I wondered how he was doing and what he was doing. Did he wake up? Was everything my parents said about him true?

"You know, all you have to do is call and get an update."

I turn to look at Kat. She was wearing the off the shoulder black shirt, dark mid waisted jeans and black heels. She had her hair half up and half down. It looked like black diamond earrings graced her ears and a black diamond necklace was sitting on her neck.

"I don't know what you are talking about." I turn back to the mirror, "he doesn't care and neither should I!"

She came all the way into my room closing the adjoining door so the dogs won't come out.

"You never gave him a chance to care Rory," I roll my eyes, "you know after everything you told me about what happened yesterday, I got to thinking. With all the heavy beeping Colton kept doing should've been a sign to you that he does care. Especially after every time you got angry or started to cry, his heart rate beated faster. Does that not tell you anything?"

I thought about what she said but before I could respond, Alaric came bursting through the door, "come on ladies, the party has started already!"

We smile and head downstairs after Alaric.
