PART FOUR

That awful night.....

After running away from the hideout, I ran straight home and into my room. I didn't cry, if that's what you think I did. Actually I did my homework and blasted country music from pandora on my phone.

I was singing and dancing to 'Country Girl Shake It For Me' by Luke Bryan, when there was a knock on the door and Harley stuck his head in, "hey come downstairs, Colton has a surprise for everyone!"

I nodded and followed him downstairs. Everyone was huddled in the living room talking amongst themselves. Harley went to the other side of the room to sit with George and Liam but I stayed in the shadows and watched from a distance.

"Everyone!" Tony gathered everyone's attention, "I want you to meet someone."

The girl, Carrie, from earlier stepped up next to him,

"This is Carrie, my girlfriend!" He grabbed her hand, and whispered, "my Tink!"

Everyone was too busy congratulating them and didn't hear what he said, but I did. My eyes popped out. He actually agreed to give her my nickname? Well since he did that, I guess it's safe to say that he's also doing the second thing she asked for and won't talk to me anymore.

I backed out the room and headed to my treehouse.

I fingered the necklace that hung around my neck. It meant so much to me.

"Rory?" He called out, "are you out here?"

I not only heard him but I watched him as he walked around our backyard looking for me. His sandy blonde hair

hanging in his face as he looked up at my treehouse. Crap.

"Tink?" He said once he climbed through the door,

"Don't call me that!"

"But that's your nickname." His eyebrows came together, questionably.

"No, it's hers," his face showed shock that I heard what he called her when he thought no one was listening, "yeah I heard you but don't worry, it didn't mean anything to me anyways, it was just a stupid name." I lied. It meant everything to me!

Hurt flashed over his face, "don't say that Rory, I know you don't mean that."

"I actually do," we stared at each other. I sighed and looked away, "I actually wanted to give you something," I begin to take off the chain necklace he got me for my birthday,

"What are you doing?"

"Here," I handed to him, "maybe she will like it better."

"But this is our friendship bracelet!"

He tried handing it back to me but I shook my head, "no, we can't be friends anymore Colton."

I started to climb down the ladder and head towards the house when I felt a hand go around my wrist and turned me around, "why are you doing this?"

I should tell him but since he obviously doesn't know why then there isn't a reason for me to tell him. So I tell him the closest thing to it that I can, "we both moved on, it's time to grow up."

"Rory!" I ignored him as I walked away, "Tink! Tinkerbell! Please tell me the real reason."

I paused, maybe I should, "you can't have a girl best friend and a girlfriend Colton." I said over my shoulder,

"bullshit, Why not?"

"It's confusing and then you'd just forget about one of them. So I'm going to end it before anybody gets hurt."

"Well, your hurting me Tink!" his eyes began to get misty,

"Stop calling me that stupid name!" I snapped, "go and take care of your new girl Colton because I'm not her anymore."

"Don't call me Colton! You call me Tony!" tears started falling from his eyes.

"Colt, babe, are you out here?" I heard Carrie's voice,

I look at Colton, "you wouldn't want her to know that you're talking to me."

"Tink, please!"

I wanted to pull him in my arms, hug him and tell him I'm sorry and that I didn't mean anything I said but.... I just can't, I know how things like this end. I turn and kept walking, "have a nice life Colton!"

I entered the house and left my best friend and the love of my life behind me. Breaking his heart and re-breaking mine.
