Life started getting really good after Carl got home. Alexia got promoted at her job and started bringing home good money, Fiona was happy with her boyfriend, Debbie and her unborn baby were healthy and coming along great, Ian was seeing someone and getting over Mickey, and Lip was finally getting out of that bad relationship with his professor. It was bound to end, I mean, what was he thinking?

I was happy and it was going okay in school. Well, my grades were already pretty good, but I was happy to be there, kind of. Probably because I had someone to sit with in the cafeteria again.

Carl's friend Nick came to stay with us, which was nice I guess. I didn't really mind another guest in the house like Fi and Lex did. Plus he was quiet, and seemed okay.

Everything was going good for the next couple of weeks. Until I had one, really, really shitty day. Today.

I woke up really fucking late. Carl "forgot" to wake me up after he got showered, Fi was at her boyfriend's, and Alexia was at work already. So by the time I did wake up everyone was already downstairs, finishing breakfast, and getting ready to leave.

"Why the fuck didn't anyone wake me up?" I yelled, throwing my hair up into a messy bun and then continuing towards the front door, having a hard time putting my Docs on.

"Sorry, I forgot." Carl said, throwing on his coat, Nick right behind him. I groaned, running out after him, struggling to put on my coat.

"Shit, I don't even think I grabbed lunch." I sighed, catching up with Carl and Nick, slinging my bag over my shoulder.

"I gotcha babe." He smirked, blush creeping up on my cheeks as he pulled a brown bag from his book bag.

"Ugh. I love you, you know that?" I sincerely smiled, grabbing the bag from his hands, " Now, I gotta run, I'm already gonna be late for first period!"

"What would ya do without me?" He called after me as I ran the rest  of the way to school, needing to get there. I was already going to be late getting my books and getting situated, so I didn't need to skip first period all together.

Turns out I was fifteen minutes late to first period with the most hardass teacher in the school; Mr. Langford. And it didn't help that he already hated me so of course he gave me a embarrassing five minute lecture about coming to class late and then shamed me for wasting five minutes of his time. Then the rest of my classes up until lunch, I had practically fallen asleep in. And of course today, my teachers finally gave a shit whether someone was sleeping through their classes or not.

By lunch I had a major headache and someone had broken into my locker and took my lunch. So I slammed my locker shut and made a mental note to get the janitor to change my locks again. But in the meantime I went outside to meet Carl, but instead I was met with Debbie.

"Hey Debs, seen Carl?" I asked and she just rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, over there talking to some mystery girl," She pointed behind me, "Watch out though, he's in black mode. Might pretend he doesn't know you."

I looked at her strangely before turning around and walking to Carl.

"Hey, Carl." I began, walking towards him and a girl.

"Yo, bitch, ion know you." He dissed me, returning to the girl.

"Carl, shut the fuck up before I beat your ass." I shook my head, waving at Nick. "Someone broke into my locker and took my fucking lunch again." I complained, the girl leaving with a nasty look on her face. Carl stared after her, but turned to me.

"Again?" He asked, rolling his eyes. " I swear-"

"Mr. Gallagher," Principal Monroe called, " I need to see you in my office." Carl looked back at Nick before returning to me again.

"Alright, uh, here take my lunch. I'll meet you in the Caf if I'm not held up." Carl said, taking his own lunch out for me and then running up to the principal, Nick following along behind him.

I sighed, holding onto the brown bag as he got called inside. I hoped he wasn't getting himself into too much trouble again. He wouldn't tell me what he was up to, I knew it was something bad and that was how he was getting money but he wouldn't tell me. He just kept saying he didn't want to drag me into anything, knowing I'd want to join him. I didn't even know Carl was dealing drugs until Frank said something about it to me. After that I smacked some sense into him, literally. But I guess it didn't work too well.

I snapped out of it, and began walking back into the school to the cafeteria when I felt eyes on me. I looked over to the left and saw that girl Carl was talking to giving me the death stare. I gave her a confused look as I shifted my books to my other arm and walked into the school.

I sat at lunch, alone, Carl never making it back in time. I ate his lunch and caught up on some homework for my next classes making the headache I once had return.

By my last class I was done. I didn't feel like hearing the teacher give me crap so I talked back. And that got me an hour of detention.

After school was out I walked into detention, there was about four other kids there, which was kind of surprising. Of course I didn't know any of them, because god hated me today, so I sat alone for an hour with no one to talk to.

When detention was finally over, I got my things from my locker and left a note in the janitor's mailbox about changing the locks. My backpack was slung over my shoulder, an extra book for history in my hands and my phone out too. That's when it started raining.

It began pouring down right after I left the proximity of the school. I still had 10 minutes of a walk left. I quickly stuffed my phone into my jean pocket, running with a book over my head since my flannel didn't have a hood.

When I finally found myself on the porch, I took the book from above my head and left it on the porch to dry. I began ringing myself off when I finally looked up, and I felt like my whole world had collapsed for a minute.
