During lunch the next day, as Yui sat in class, facing out the window as usual, she could feel a buzz come from her phone, meaning that someone had sent her a message.

Checking the screen briefly, she saw who it was from and went a blanched a little.

'Kage-chan' seen

The message said. So simple and yet with so much familiarity, but it's sender was someone who lacked such familiarity.

Yui could feel her heartbeat start to race, whether it was fear or anger that she was feeling, she was unsure.

Quickly blocking it's sender before she could read the next message that they sent, she pocketed her phone and immediately left her seat by the window, opting to get up and walk to cool herself down.

Wishing that they would hopefully get the idea and back off.

'How's your new school doing? You look as pretty as always.' unread

"Gather up!" Daichi called out during afternoon practice one day, only to be interrupted by the sound of the gym's double doors being pushed open.

Entering were Takeda-sensei and an unexpected figure that they all recognized. Hands in his pockets and dyed blonde hair being pulled back by a hairband, it was the shop keeper from their local convenience store.

Their teacher beamed at his students before announcing, "This is the person who will be coaching you all from today onwards till the practice match with Nekoma, let me introduce you all to Ukai-kun." Their teacher looking as if he had just won the lottery.

Yui, who couldn't help herself when it came to her many relatives, no matter how distant they actually are, smirked widely before taking a step to stand next to Ukai.

"Look who finally decided to grow up and come see us." She teased, a hand pinching her older cousin's cheek. Her voice sounding like a predator playing with it's prey.

The man, Ukai Keishin gave her a brief look of panic once he fully recognized who it was. Why her of all people?

The Ukais had become a branch of the Kageyama family even before their great grandmother's time, which meant that they were biologically distant for a branch family. Despite that, their relationship with the main family was close, allowing their level of hierarchy within the family to remain quite high. Thus meaning that they saw each other often on holidays and weekends.

It had been Keishin's grandfather, and Yui's own grandfather that influenced the younger generation of the Kageyama family to play Volleyball. When they were younger, every time the Ukai's would visit, the former coach would bring a volleyball and his grandson, and challenge the other old man to see who's grandchildren were better.

Seeing the bickering between their own grandparents caused the grandchildren to bicker amongst themselves too, bonding the families even tighter to each other.

"Coaching?" Daichi question, sounding confused as he wouldn't have guessed that the town's local convenience store owner was their soon-to be coach.

"But he's the guy from the shop near here." Tanaka said, sounding incredulous as he points out the obvious.
