[warning! panic/anxiety attack]
...
Yui's mood had been continuously pleasant since the day she had went out with Ushijima. Due to their mid term exams, they couldn't meet up again yet, but it was currently fine with them.
That day, as she opened her shoe locker to change her shoes, her eyes widened as she saw many pink and white envelopes fall out. Along with flowers and boxes of what looked like chocolate. They must have been crammed in there, considering how small each locker was.
The students around her stared as she bent down to pick them up. Daichi and Sugawara, both of them having just arrived, decided to lend her a helping hand in the process.
Yui, curious, picked up one of the envelopes. Her eyebrow raised as she turned it around in her hand. Examining it. Her face remained stoic but deep down she was angry.
"Who put these in my locker?" Yui seethed. It's not that Yui hated gifts or being given stuff in general, it was just that she didn't like being messy, and the abundant amount of stuff that came spewing out of her locker, to her, was considered messy.
She sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. "What the hell?" She opened the envelope and was met with a folded piece of paper inscribed with neat handwriting.
As Yui slowly read the paper, Sugawara and Daichi immediately noticed that something was wrong. Her hand holding the letter was trembling and her eyes were wide. She was biting the bottom of her lip in evident nervousness.
She reread the letter once more before ripping the paper and running off. Forgetting about the leftover mess on the floor as she turned the corner and into one of the changing rooms down the hall. People staring at her as she ran past them, curious looks trying to find out about the commotion that was currently happening.
Yui ran into one of the changing stalls and slammed the door shut, locking it behind her before slowly sinking to the ground. Her hand tightly gripping onto the front of her shirt.
Her breathing was starting to turn erratic as her chest tightened and she felt like she couldn't breathe. Blood pounded in her ears as her feet and fingers felt numb from all the shaking. Her vision was starting to turn blurry as she gripped the sides of her head, she felt like her head was going to split open from the pain.
The fear and growing despair she had managed to keep locked away, were slowly coming back. The screams, the sound of tables toppling over, and the sound of a man's laugh resonating in her head like a broken record on repeat. Everything crashing down.
She felt tears run down her face as the searing pain from all the hyperventilation was getting to her like a knife was stabbing her in the chest. Her airways felt like they were being crushed.
She pulled her knees close to her chest and buried her head in between them, choked sobs escaping her lips.
She had been able to keep the bad memories away. She had finally been able to forget. But now they were back, and she felt like she was trapped in a cage with nowhere to escape. Her hands started to claw at her shirt, the material crumpling under her fingers and as the first two buttons opened she took a deep breath as if the material was closing tight around her.
Her fist hit the floor in pure anger at herself for being this vulnerable. She then hit her legs a few more times before hitting her cheeks lightly. Her vision started to clear up and she lets out a breath she didn't know she had been holding.
She breathes deep breaths before slowly getting up from the ground, her legs still feeling like jelly as she stood, her hand on the wall of the stall for support.
