Despite Yui's defiance, she was dragged out of bed by her mother before being forced to go to school. She did her morning routine, grabbing a box of strawberry milk on her way out the door, and was on her way to school before her mom could nag her any further.
She took her time to look around and observe her surrounding as she walked. The blue sky with fluffy cotton candy-like clouds, the leafless trees that decorated the path every few meters, the snow that was laid on the ground in patches, the soft humming of passing cars, and the sounds of birds singing far away yet could still be heard.
Even though the start of the days seemed calm and normal, a nagging sensation kept tugging at her in the back of her head. As if saying that something wrong was coming and she had to be wary.
Normally Yui wouldn't ignore her senses. If something like this happened on any other day, she might've gone to the park or library and stay there for the whole day before going home when the sky turns dark.
She ignored it. She wished she hadn't ignored it.
She reached school just in time with only two minutes left till she would be checked in as late. She walked into the classroom, casually sitting down into her chair, her bag landing onto the floor with a dull thud before she slumped over her desk and closed her eyes.
School is boring and she doesn't give a shit about it.
...
Although she was in a fairly dull mood after arriving at school, she didn't mind the feeling of time ticking by slowly. Each class lasting what felt like half an hour longer than usual. It was as if the world had slowed down and all noise turned into a soft buzz in her ears.
Time passed and lunch arrived before she even knew it. The sound of the school's bell pulling her out of her thoughts. She turned away from the window and sighed. She did consider eating lunch, but after being lost in thought for so long, she had lost her appetite.
As she laid her head on the table, cheek pressed against the cold hard wood, her dark eyes followed every figure that went in and out of the classroom.
Her body felt sluggish and her limbs were sore. Her hair was spread flat out in a mess across the table. Nobody cared and nobody looked. It was just her in her own world. Nice, calm, slow, quiet-
"Yui-chan!" Silver white hair and dark gray eyes jumped into her line of vision, a bright smile accompanying both features.
Yui's eyes slowly traveled upwards to meet the bright grey ones. Another figure appeared behind Suguwara and swung an arm around the thin boy. "Kageyama-chan-"
But before Daichi could finish whatever he was going to say, Yui turned her head away to face the wall instead.
She wasn't in the mood for talk and to be honest, she still hasn't forgiven them for butting into her private matters.
Sensing that they weren't going to get through to her, the two exchanged knowing looks before leaving her alone.
As lunch period ticked on, more people came to see her to try and talk to her. But she ignored them all. Asahi, Kiyoko, Tobio, Hinata, she ignored them all. She acted as if they didn't exist. Head turned away and body slumped over her desk.
