Forcefully making her eyes open, Karlie sits up from the hard kitchen floor and takes a look at her surroundings; a few bottles of wine and one Taylor Swift sleeping soundly next to her.

She looked so peaceful in her slumber, the kind of peaceful that screamed I'm dreaming about rainbows and kittens - it was cute.

Karlie got up and realised her head is pounding so she grabs a glass and fills it with water before roaming the kitchen draws for an Advil, successfully.

Fuck, this is one of the worst hangovers I've had in a while

Her back kind of aches from sleeping on a hard surface so she picks Taylor up from it, bridal style, and carries her to the couch in the living room and drapes a blanket over her and stuffs a pillow behind her head.

Karlie kisses Taylor's forehead (shaking her head as she cringes at her sappy gesture) and as she's headed out of the room to clear the wine bottles up she catches a quick look at the clock.

7:53.

Oh no. Shit. Shit. Shit!!!

She was supposed to be starting work today, and at 8 am.

It was impossible to do everything in 7 minutes. Calling in sick crossed her mind but she decided against it, that might be even worse than coming in late. Her only plan of action now was to do everything as quick as humanly possible.

Not wanting to leave Taylor by herself and confused, Karlie wrote her a note explaining that she was going to work and would be back quite late at night.

Then she ran upstairs as quick as her long legs would carry her and found an elegant white dress with no straps and threw it on. She brushed her teeth super fast and gave herself a touch of makeup on her face.

She grabbed her empty briefcase and ran to the car, making sure she'd put her new keys for her new locks in her jacket pocket. Karlie fired the engine up and pulled out of her driveway - leaving her lover behind. She still wasn't sure what they were to each other, she just knew that she liked Taylor. A lot.

Thankfully there wasn't a lot of traffic this Monday morning and she made it to work by 8:45.

Her legs carried her into the building and towards the elevator where she pressed the button for the 13th floor. She arrived at her floor and in big capital letters to her right it said "Specter Litt". The law firm she worked at and the law firm Taylor was represented by. Still a weird coincidence.

As she walked to the room where all the other junior lawyers were, she could feel eyes glaring at her, including her boss's - Mr Specter.

Before she could reach her cubicle where her desk was, he called her over.

"Miss Kloss, come to my office please", his voice booming across the reception area towards her.

She turns around and looks him dead in the eye and gulps.

Me Specter takes his seat behind the desk and Karlie is now sat opposite him trying to avoid eye contact.

He begins taking. "As you know this is your first day here, so we all expected you to make a good impression".

He pauses and looks at her. She looked tired and out of it.

He sighed, Clearly hungover.

"Miss Kloss, I'm going to put this to you very bluntly", he says the masculinity in his voice filling the office.

"If you are ever late again or come in hungover, you are fired. Is that understood?", he says rhetorically.

"Now, on top of your other work, I need you to create a report on everything you can gather about these two companies. We want to sign one but we don't know which one, so you're going to help us out by creating a document as to why we should and why we shouldn't sign them".
