They heard it before they saw it.
One minute they were enjoying a nice picnic watching over ducklings in a pond in a hidden park. It had been one of Taylors favourite places when she wanted time to herself without the hassle of paparazzi and (as much as she loves them) – her fans. Of course, she was still paranoid and frequently looked over her shoulder whenever she heard some sort of noise in the deserted park, which despite being almost empty all the time, was pretty well kept. The grass was always a vibrant green in colour, the sun always shone directly over the area when it was out, the trees of the minute forest towered over the tiny area – blocking the view of members of the public and the birds in the small area of woodland sang beautifully. To any onlooker it was just a bunch of trees, but as Taylor found herself in the middle of it a couple years, she could barely bring herself to leave – since then it had become her quiet spot that shed never shared with anyone.
"I brought some wine, I forgot to say, do you want any?" Taylor asks, "I left it in my car but its no trouble to get it," she continues rambling.
"Babe," Karlie replies softly, placing her hand on Taylors knee.
"Oh shit! I forgot you cant drink anymore. I seemed to forget all about it as soon as you stopped taking me to the AA meetings with you. Which I think are great for you by the way."
Karlie was in no mood for running the atmosphere by talking about her crappy liver and alcohol problems.
"Hey!" Taylor exclaims as the sandwich she was just about to take a bite out of was snatched from her hands by a taller but younger blonde seated next to her on the small surface area of blanket that could just about fit their long legs onto when stretched out from a sitting position.
"What?" Karlie asked nonchalantly, whilst the other girl just stared at her in disbelief.
"That was the last sandwich! Its not my fault you decided to take it upon yourself to eat 80% of the contents of the picnic basket on the way here," she replies, eyeing the sandwich with her mouth watering slightly. She hadnt even had a big breakfast other than a cup of coffee, and she had been looking forward to the basic but yummy cheese sandwich.
"If you want it come and get it," the lawyer responded mischievously, holding the item of food high above their heads, out of her girlfriends reach.
Immediately, Taylor reaches her arm towards it whilst propping herself up on her knees to gain height and leaning towards her – but all Karlie did was move her hand backwards to further distance the food from the hungry girl.
"KARLIEEE! Give me the fucking sandwich," Taylor huffs, pulling an angry face that Karlie could see right through and giggled at her attempt to look mad.
"You're a really bad actor, babe," but Taylor just turns her head in the opposite direction so Karlie couldnt see the small smile coating her face – she was absolutely right, Taylor couldnt pretend to be mad a ta Karlie to save her life.
"OK, ill give it to you one condition," Karlie starts, watching Taylor spin her head around before continuing, "You kiss me."
A grin appears on both of their faces as Taylor leans in and pecks her lips, whilst Karlie still holds the item of food above her head - the small contact of their lips seemed to make her forget about the ache in her long arm.
"You call that a kiss?" she teases.
Taylor rolls her eyes, before going in again for another kiss – this time it was much longer and held more fire and passion. Soon the sandwich was erased from their minds and discarded in the grass somewhere as Taylor straddled her girlfriend and peppered kisses along her face, jaw and neck.
