The sun had just started to set on one of the most beautiful beaches that graced California's coast. Crimson and amber engulfed the sky and reflected into the ocean, it wouldn't be long before the moon was out. On that beach was a restaurant, a small but posh one. At that restaurant were two beautiful ladies who were sat in the outside section, enjoying the sunset.
They both stared intensely at the breathtaking view before Karlie turns her head back to her girlfriend and takes ahold of her hand.
"Happy 2 month anniversary babe," she says to the blue eyed beauty.
Just by the touch of Karlies hand, Taylor felt butterflies swirling around in her stomach. The corners of her mouth crept into a smile at the girls words.
"Happy anniversary, cupcake," Taylor's reciprocates, looking deeply into emerald green eyes. "I love you so much".
"I love you too," Karlie whispers back.
The balcony upon which they were sitting on, was empty and there was no one inside the restaurant either. Not many people knew about this restaurant which is why Taylor always liked it. All the times she came her alone to enjoy the scenery and quiet was now replaced by the fact that she was here with her girlfriend who filled the quiet and stared at her with amazement in the same way she used to stare at the sunset - she filled the void in Taylor's heart.
As Taylor took a sip of her expensive white wine, Karlie reached her hand into her pocket and brought out a flat and small velvet box. When the other girl had put her wine glass back down on the table, she used her hand to slide it across the table and towards her.
"Karlie, what is this? I thought we agreed no presents you traitor," Taylor's says staring at the box with curiosity.
"Just open it," Karlie replies with excitement.
Taylor's hands pick up the box and she undoes the clasp and opens the box. It was a necklace. Not just any old necklace though, it had the initial "K" inscribed onto it.
"It's incredible!", The girl exclaims, watching it glisten against the moon that had risen.
She stands up and turns around so her back is facing Karlie, her hand reaches up and brushes her hair to one side exposing her neck.
Getting the hint, Karlie gets up from her seat and walks over to Taylor. Her long blue gown drops to the floor as it hugs her figure. Contrastingly, Taylor wore a pale yellow dress that came up to her knees, it was strapless and her shoulders glistened in the atmosphere.
The lawyer takes the necklace from the other girl and wraps it around her neck before bringing the clasp to the back and fixing it together. Once she had done it, she kisses Taylor's exposed neck gently and quickly. The smaller girl turns around and kisses her on the lips. For a while, time stood still as they continued to kiss. It was a simple kiss but it meant so much more to both women.
It wasn't until the owner came out and cleared his throat that they stopped.
"Would you and your guest like anything else, Miss Swift?" The Italian man asked. His face was visible only by the moonlight and the cute little fairy lights that had been draped around the balcony.
"No, we were just about to leave, Alex," Karlie replies back to the middle aged man, he had hints if grey hair that had just begun to show in his thick beard.
"Yeah, thank you so much for everything," Taylor adds, smiling at the man.
Karlie chugs the rest of her wine down and reaches for Taylor's coat and helps her into it, before putting on her own coat to shelter her from the cool wind that had been creeping in.
