Chapter 32: High fever

          Jimin felt the younger drop his hands from hugging him close as the smile turned away from the happy light and stepped into the blinding abyss of darkness. "Jungkook... Please.. I only do this to protect you..." Jimin whispered as Jungkook broke away from the hug and looked at Jimin with his tears flowing from his puffy eyes. Having that piercing feeling on his heart of betrayal. "I told you if we stay together, you'll get hurt. It's a horrible feeling... I can't have them hurt you too. You know how much I couldn't take when Namjoon was in the hospital. If.. If Sehiro is the one who harmed Namjoon, I can't bring myself to have you get killed if he finds out that we both love each other." Jimin claimed while Jungkook suddenly started to cough and tear up at the same time. It wasn't a good sound and this alone made Jimin feel like he was killing Jungkook himself.

              "Sweetie... Please..." Jimin added as he walked up to the boy. "Show me you understand and let this be over..." Jimin continued while Jungkook kept backing up and shaking his head. Not wanting this to happen. This was how much it hurt him.

'You don't have to leave me. Arrest him and we'll be together.' Jungkook signed the best he could before coughing again. 'You won't choose your job over me. Will you?'

              "Jungkook.. I can't choose you, I need to protect you at the same time. And I-I can't arrest him without evidence! you're my detective... You know that. He's a suspect, but I can't do anything to arrest him without the evidence." Jimin continued as Jungkook cleared his throat the best he could while he wiped his tears. "Jungkook... Don't get upset. I just don't want to lose you." Jimin replied calmly as he walked up to the boy to caress his face that was already high in temperature. "Y-You're burning up.." Jimin whispered and only then, Jungkook pushed Jimin back enough for him to quickly back up towards the front door.

'I loved you. Loved you better than anyone has ever did. You gave me love and now you want to take that away?' Jungkook gestured quickly with anger as tears slid down his cheek. 'What ever happened to the gift you can't take back? You want to protect me and care for me. But then you kill me and hurt me every time. This love I have for you is beyond compare.' Jungkook gestured and slowed down once he got to his final words. 'Hurt me all you want. But I'll still hold you as mine, Park Jimin.' Jungkook concluded his gestures. Before Jimin could step in, Jungkook quickly dashed out of the house.

             Jimin knew the boy wouldn't go that far, however, his heart ached trying to do something good. He has never felt so much pain before. The worst part of it was that he couldn't go out there to tell the boy they should start over since there was not point of doing so. Now that Sehiro was a suspect, Jimin couldn't risk losing Jungkook. His heart longed for Jungkook and he could tell the boy felt the same way. However, Jimin couldn't lead the boy off and make him feel like he wasn't good enough by ignoring him after he stormed out of the house. This alone added to the stress Jimin carried.

             "He's sick.. I know he is. I can't have him outside on his own." Jimin whispered to himself as he found himself walking up to the window and gazing out to see Jungkook just sitting there on the steps of the porch while he pressed his head against the pillar of the porch. Repeatedly tapping the side of his head onto the pillar. "Ah, he hates me..." Jimin whispered as he finally brought himself to step out of the house.

            By there, Jimin had a clear view of Jungkook just beating his head onto the wooden pillar of the porch silently as he couldn't stop coughing. There was even a moment when he stopped tapping his head against the wood so he can cough and only then, he resumed his small meltdown by continuing to hit the side of his head against the pillar. What Jimin didn't really look back at was the fact that he was all Jungkook had. He had no friends other than the dispatcher, but RM was at the hospital now.... Which meant, losing Jimin was enough to have Jungkook fall back into those horrid days of isolation.
