chenle glances down at the watch on his wrist. jisung's been gone for twenty minutes and every second that passes chenle gets more and more anxious. the water glass in his hand trembles every time someone passes him or meets his eyes.
"hey, chenle," a voice rings out, causing the shy chinese boy to jump. he looks up to see one of the more decent kids, samuel, walking towards him.
"you alright?" he knits his eyebrows together. chenle nods. "i'm not a big party person but jisung wanted me to come and-"
"he ditched you," samuel nods knowingly.
chenle's about to deny it, but he knows it's true. jisung has completely ditched him even though he told chenle he wouldn't. the chinese boy becomes angrier and angrier by the second.
"do you, uhm, do you want a drink?" samuel asks, scratching the back of his head bashfully.
chenle shakes his head. "nah, i'm driving tonight."
the two chat for a while, talking about anything to continue the conversation. chenle likes talking to samuel, always has, and doesn't notice the way the other becomes touchier as the night goes on. soon enough the other has his fingers touching chenle's casually.
"do you miss living in china?" samuel asks at one point.
"i miss my friends and knowing the language completely, but not really living their," chenle replies.
"ah, makes sense."
chenle smiles softly at the taller boy, who's cheeks flush with pink.
samuel looks across the room and his smile drops. chenle follows his gaze and his eyes meet with jisung's, who practically radiates jealousy.
the moment he lays eyes on samuel's hand on top of chenle's, he storms forward, grabbing chenle's hand and linking their fingers together as he pulls him out of the room.
"jisung, what the fuck!?" chenle half-shouts once they're outside. he rips his hand away from the younger and folds his arms over his chest expectantly. "well?"
"were you doing it on purpose?" jisung asks, tilting his head to the side.
"doing what on purpose?"
"making me jealous."
"i was just talking to a friend because someone decided to ditch me," chenle growls. the burn in jisung's eyes makes him feel all types of ways, but he ignores that.
"he was flirting with you, dumbass," jisung explains angrily. "did you not notice how close he was to you?"
"and so what if he was?" chenle retorts.
jisung doesn't reply. instead, he pulls chenle against him and kisses him, jealousy and passion fuelling it. his hands take hold of chenle's waist and bring him even closer.
chenle's brain is in full panicked gay mode. the feeling of jisung's lips against his, something he's been dreaming about for years, is even more magical than he expected. he places his hands on the back of jisung's neck, gently pushing the younger closer to him.
"chenle," jisung whispers, pulling away.
the chinese hums in response.
"be my boyfriend," jisung demands softly.
"what's the magic word?" chenle grins, peering into his best friend's eyes.
"please?"
"okay," chenle beams. jisung kisses him again, much softer this time, and murmurs, "mine," into his boyfriend's ear.
and, oh boy, does chenle like the sound of that.
