Tylers POV:

I woke up to a loud lighting strike coming from outside my window, looking over at my bedside table I reached over lazily, still half asleep, grabbing it and turning it on, I groaned. 10:00! 10:00 in the morning on a Saturday, I could have slept for at least another 2 hours. I sighed sitting up on my bed and rubbed a frustrated hand down my face, my eyes adjusting to their surroundings. Just as I was about to get up out of bed to brush my teeth my phone started going off, turning my head to look at the flashing screen on my bed, I saw Brads name on the caller ID. What was he doing up at this time? That was a shock to say the least, normally on a weekend he slept more than me. I shook my head from my thoughts and quickly swiped my finger on my phone to answer it.

"Yeah man, whats up?" My voice came out groggy and tried still trying to adjust to the morning hours.

"Yo, you just woke up too?" he questioned with a low chuckle.

"Yeah what the fuck are you doing up? You sleep longer than me." I questioned

He sighed frustrated before taking a minute to answer "Mom woke me up to help her bring in groceries this morning, I went off on her for waking me."

I rose a brow, my mom would have smacked me senseless if I ever pulled that shit with her, I have my set of rules and manners when it comes to my parents but Brad, he could give two shits. "Damn bro -" and before I could continue he cut me off.

"So how are things going with you and thunder thighs?"

I rolled my eyes at the nickname he gave Emma, It was seriously starting to get on my nerves, I knew this guy was my best friend but why were his asshole tendencies starting to bother me so much when it came to her? He's talked about plenty of girls in the wrong way and he's been rude and condescending too many times that I could count but now when it came to Emma, it made me want to backhand him but I replied as if it hadn't effected me "Uh, its alright, Ive only had one study session with her so far and Im making small moves here and there."

Brand clicked his tongue "Not good enough man, you have to try harder and spend more time with her."

"I know man, Im working on it..." I replied now Emma's face swarming my brain, I ran a hand through my hair and let out a long sigh, God it was driving me crazy how this girl was effecting me, she wasn't supposed to, I was the one who was supposed to be affecting her and making her fall in love. I feel like I don't know my own emotions right now. Ever since I met her theres something new about her I like. On Thursday when she came over to study I loved how great she was with my sister, it made me smile and I just couldn't stop watching her interact with Mandy.

Brads voice shook me from my thoughts "Yo, Tyler you heard me?" he questioned

"No sorry, I was thinking of how to reel this girl in." I responded casually

"Well what are you doing today?" He paused for a moment "Its Saturday and she probably aint got shit to do."

I gave it a bit of thought but then turned my head looking out the window at the gray skies and rain pouring down hitting the ground "It fucking pouring out."

"My point exactly chicks love that," he stated and explained "You call her, ask her to go over for another study date and she's going to be so shocked you want to see her even though its pouring rain out - to her it will be like your taking the extra step when you don't have to."

"Like going above and beyond." I finished for him.

"Yeah and maybe sweet talk her some, make pretend your interested, get to know her, i don't know man, aren't you the expert?" He questioned with a laugh.
