Ariel separated and curled a piece of my hair around the barrel of the curling iron while Lena stood in front of my searching through eye shadow colors to blend on my lids before we heard my moms voice shout from downstairs.
"Damon Anthony Hendrix, Calm yourself right now!!"
My moms firm and authoritative tone reverberated throughout the house. Yes our house was big and yes the walls were thick but that helps nothing when my moms temper comes out. Very rarely did my mom yell or reprimand us but when she did you'd better run! To be quite honest thats where Damon got his temper from so both of them fighting was like adding fuel to the fire.
I couldn't help but feel my heart clench in disappointment because they were fighting because of me. My mom wouldn't be trying so hard to defend me if I had just said no to Tyler and his date or maybe tired to keep it more of a secret. I don't blame Lena for slipping up and saying I had a date in front of Damon, I know she was trying to take the heat off of Ariel but I couldn't help but be angry that it happened.
Ariel looked down at me sympathetically as the two continued bickering while Lena just shook her head in disappointment.
"Damon you need to let your sister live and learn how to trust her! You don't even know this boy!" My moms shouts came again, trying to defend me to the best of her ability.
"I was him mom!!" Damon voice shouted back "I know exactly who he is and what he's thinking, all he wants is for Emma to think he's prince charming and once he's taken advantage of her he will leave!"
There was a pause. Me, Ariel, and Lena all looked at each other thinking it was over but...nope we thought wrong. My moms voice came again this time little bit lower but with still as much authority behind it.
"I know your heart is in the right place...and I know all you want to do is protect your sister from being hurt but suffocating her like this is only going to drive her away from you, if you know Emma, you know me and your father raised her right, she's a smart girl and she won't give herself away to some boy she goes on a date with."
With that said, all there was again was silence.
I looked up at Lena who stopped brushing eye shadow over a brush and looked towards me "I guess its over..."
"Im shocked Damon didn't fight any longer." Ariel's voice came from the side of my head where she stood still curling pieces of hair.
Lena shook her head and blew excess powder off the brush "Close." she commanded me and I closed my eyes for her to begin sweeping on shadow and blending it out.
"It seems way to easy. Damon is like a stubborn bull, he won't stop until he gets what he wants." Lena replied.
"I just wish he would trust me, I just want to be a normal girl and be excited for her first date with a super sexy, super cute guy." I confessed with sadness in my voice.
I peeked through one eye and saw a small smile spread on Lena's face "I love to see you excited and happy about this date but I promise you I still don't trust him and if he hurts you, Ill castrate him and feed it to the fish!"
I grimaced but couldn't help let out a laugh.
"Damn be any more blunt and violent Lena." Ariel responded before letting out a giggle.
A few minutes later Lena stood up and I watched as she put all the brushes away and stepped back to take a look at her work done to my face.
A smile lit up her features and she giggled. "Perfect!" she exclaimed before closing her makeup case.
